*she bites her lip, thinking* I'm not sure I still have anything of his. Well except for this one *she nods toward the child in her arms* but I can look?

*gives an understanding nod*

You certainly can look. I wouldn't want to disturb your privacy since I wouldn't know where you keep anything. Besides, usually when I do searches, I have a warrant.

*she hands the little one over to Gina* I think I know where to look first. I'll just be a minute. *she retreats back into the office to open a portal to the mansion*

*Gina calls after her* Make sure to check with Elisabeth too. Some things may have survived her little bonfire. *she looks at Eion* She won't be long.

It's fine. I don't mind the wait.

*raises his left eyebrow slightly* Bonfire, huh?

Okay bonfire is a bit of an exaggeration, it wasn't very big. Elisabeth is Jacqueline's best friend so when Reese left she decided he should be cut out of all the pictures and have anything he left burned. She thought it would make her feel better. *she shrugs, snuggling the little girl*

*gives a half shrug* Sometimes people find the purging a bit therapeutic.

I know. It didn't really help though, Jac is too gentle for something like that to work very well. In the end Alexa was the one that made her feel better.

How did Alexa cheer her up? If it's all right to ask, I mean.

She was just there for her mostly, making sure Jac was okay and telling her we would help her as much as we can. As I said, they were cousins, and close ones at that. She knew what to say better than the rest of us.

*smiles* They certainly do sound close. And I'm glad Alexa was able to help Jac out.

Well they spent a lot of time together as kids. She'll say it's because their mothers are twins.

*Jac returns, holding a large ring* I thought I remembered him leaving this with me. *She holds up the ring* Will this do?

Twin connection.

It might. *holds out his hand* May I examine it?

Sure. *she places the ring in his hand* He told me once that he got it when he was a teenager, about twenty years ago. I've barely touched it. *now she takes her daughter back from Gina*

*The ring glows with a soft blue light for a moment and then one area glows in yellow before all the lights fade away.*

It seems there is a trace of him on the ring.

*It glows again for a moment and then a tiny golden orb hovers above the ring. Eion waves his free hand, moving the orb towards the doorway. The orb hovers for a moment and then disappears with a pop. The doorway's frame glows for about two seconds and then the light fades.*

Hopefully, that worked. It's a start for now to keep him from entering here. If it was done right, he won't be able to enter this place.

I'm sure you probably want something done to keep him away from you personally as well though. Am I right?

*the two women watch him work anxiously*

It would help, yeah. I don't want to worry about him cornering me whenever I take the girls to the park or something if I can help it. He would, if he figures out he can't come in here.

Would you want him just to stay back or not notice you at all?

Having him stay back would probably be easier. His power makes it hard to keep him from noticing things.

What kind of power does he have?

Psychometry. He'd be able to figure out where I've been or where I'll be. *she turned to Gina* Don't you dare finish that thought.

*Gina just looks amused and says to Eion before he asks about it* It's a private joke.

Ah. Well, I can see why just hiding you wouldn't work then.

*thinks for a moment* Is he the type that would do anything your girls?

Yeah. *she shook her head* I don't think so, but then he's never seen her before so I can't be sure. I'm pretty sure he doesn't know about the twins, they aren't ours.

I was just thinking...using a spell that keeps him away might backfire in a situation where he is harming someone you care about. You wouldn't be able to be very near him. It would be like when you try to connect magnets of the same pole together - there would be a force keeping you apart.

Maybe it might be better to use some sort of shielding device - something you'd have some control of, just to be safe.

Well the twins have teleporting abilities and Lily is never more than a few feet from me unless we're here or home, but I agree, it would be better if I had control over it. Just in case.

Maybe what I could do in enchant something that would keep a protective circle around you. It would probably only keep someone back a couple of feet though. Witches are better are enchanting things than mages.

A few feet is better than nothing, and it's more than I can do. What kind of thing did you have in mind?
