And you can call me if you need anything, okay? [Sam traced her cheek briefly with his fingers before pulling them away]

[She lets out an almost audible noise of disappointment when he pulls away.] Alright, but.. I probably won't. Never know when you guys are near or not.

[Sam can sense that she's disappointed and looks at her curiously.] Yeah, I know. Part of being on the road all the time, I guess. You alright, Jo?

[Jo clears her throat and quickly looks anywhere, but at Sam.] Yeah, I'm fine. Why?

You just seem a little distracted by something.

Um... no. Just thinking.

Oh okay. Anything you wanna talk about?

Uuuh. It's kinda' embarrassing. And I don't want you looking at me weird.

Jo, seriously, tell me. I'm hear to listen.

Alright. Um.. I was just thinking about.. you. Because I like you. [And this was Jo's cue to get up and.. oh look, a table that needed to be cleaned.]

Wait, hold on a second...you like me? As in like me more than a friend? [Sam gets up and follows until he's standing in front of her]

[Jo stops the moment Sam was in front of her and looks up at him. Biting on her bottom lip, she tries to think of something other than the truth, but..] Yeah. More than a friend. You can now look at me all weird and everything.

I'm not gonna look at you all weird. [Awkward rubbing of his neck] I just never thought you would think of me like that.

[Sigh.] Yeah, well I do. Do with it what you want. [And now she moves around him, going to that table. Avoiding eye contact made this better. Somehow.]

Jo. [Sam sighs, following after her again. He takes her wrist gently in his hand, turning her around to face him. Then, without warning, he leans in and kisses her softly on the lips.]

[Jo's first instinct was to push him away, but that quickly takes the backseat as she almost melts into the kiss, returning it just as softly. After a moment though, she breaks it, whispering just an inch from his lips.] Sam, you don't have to kiss me just to make me feel better.

[He was beyond pleased that she returned the kiss, his hands cupping her face gently. When she breaks it, he swallows and looks at her.] I didn't kiss you to make you feel better. I did it because I wanted to.

Why? I mean.. why would you wanna' kiss me? [Because for the life of her, she couldn't think of one reason why he would.]

Because I like you, Jo. More than just a friend. [He smiles] You're smart, beautiful and strong. Pretty funny too.

[She smiles.] I.. wow. I definitely didn't think you did. [Jo then leans up to kiss him, though this time more firmly.]

[His hands now slide to either side of her neck gently to continue the kiss, content in the moment]

[She tilts her head, deepening the kiss and making a quiet happy noise. Her body pressing just slightly against his.]

[Sam presses himself back against Jo a little, enough to make her feel comfortable, a hand now curling gently in her hair as he murmurs softly.]

[She nibbles playfully on his lower lip, hesitantly breaking the kiss.. before this, whatever it was, went any further. Taking in a few slow breaths, Jo finally says something.] So.. um.. what now?

[He takes a breath, still basking after that kiss. Sam smiles at her] I could take you out.
