Hm. Alright. At least that'll get some of the hair outta' your eyes. That way you don't always look like a sad puppy or something. [Jo smirks before leaning in and running the comb through his bangs. Carefully, she cuts just an inch off, smiling when she could see more of his eyes.] Hey there.

All the better for hunting with, right? [He grins, pulling the patented puppy look before he looks up, realising how close she is. His voice is quiet] Hey.

I don't think your hair and sad puppy look makes you great at hunting, Sam. [She chuckles softly until his voice gets quiet. She stares for a moment before clearing her throat and pulling back a bit.] Um.. right. So, the rest of your hair.

[Jo moves to his side, combing through his hair before cutting. Repeating the process on the back and other side.]

Makes me kinda adorable though, right? [He laughs. Seeing Jo makes him smile and forget about all the crap he's gone through recently] Yeah, you can't leave it uneven. It wouldn't look so good.

Yeah, Sam. Makes you adorable. [She says once she comes back to the front of him. She checks to make sure his hair is even before running her fingers through it to get an cut hair off his head.]

Totally. [He sucks in a breath at the feel of her fingers through his hair. They're warm, soft and not entirely unwelcome. Coughs.]

So, how are things with you?

[She pulls her fingers out of his hair, setting the scissors and comb down.] I've been alright. A few days ago had to break up a fight between four guys. That was fun. [No, it really wasn't. Two guys Jo could take, four was just.. interesting and painful.]

How about you?

Damn. You're okay though, right? [He can't help but be concerned, even though he knew she could handle herself.]

I'm good. Still hunting. Same old, same old.

Yeah, I'm fine. Couple bumps and cuts, nothing big. [She shrugs, bringing a chair around so she could sit in front of him.]

Ya' know, if you ever need help with a case, you can always call me, right?

[He rests his elbows on his knees, leaning forward] Good.

I know. I should call you more often. Even if it's not for a case. I feel like I'm losing touch with everyone y'know?

[Jo watches him as he leans forward, biting on her lower lip before saying anything.]

Wish ya' would call more often. I know you can handle yourself and all, but I still worry. Especially going weeks or months without hearing anything. [She ruffles his hair playfully.] And you're not exactly losing touch with me. So don't worry about that.

Yeah, about that. I just got caught up in a few things. But I'm touched that you worry. [He smiles at the ruffling, brushing a few strands of her hair away from her face.] I promise to call you more often, Jo.

I know things happen. [Her eyes flicker shut as she briefly leans into the hand that brushes her hair away.] Thanks, Sam. I'd appreciate it.

And you can call me if you need anything, okay? [Sam traced her cheek briefly with his fingers before pulling them away]

[She lets out an almost audible noise of disappointment when he pulls away.] Alright, but.. I probably won't. Never know when you guys are near or not.

[Sam can sense that she's disappointed and looks at her curiously.] Yeah, I know. Part of being on the road all the time, I guess. You alright, Jo?

[Jo clears her throat and quickly looks anywhere, but at Sam.] Yeah, I'm fine. Why?

You just seem a little distracted by something.

Um... no. Just thinking.

Oh okay. Anything you wanna talk about?

Uuuh. It's kinda' embarrassing. And I don't want you looking at me weird.

Jo, seriously, tell me. I'm hear to listen.

Alright. Um.. I was just thinking about.. you. Because I like you. [And this was Jo's cue to get up and.. oh look, a table that needed to be cleaned.]

Wait, hold on a second...you like me? As in like me more than a friend? [Sam gets up and follows until he's standing in front of her]

[Jo stops the moment Sam was in front of her and looks up at him. Biting on her bottom lip, she tries to think of something other than the truth, but..] Yeah. More than a friend. You can now look at me all weird and everything.
