Yeah, that was about the extent of my knowledge base on how to get into a locked computer. Now, if you had any ancient languages you needed deciphering, then I could help you out.

English, Hindi and a bit a French are the extent of my language knowledge...and I really just need to get into my database... [Before she gets back to fry me, he thinks to himself] Are you an archaeologist?

Ah, no. I simply translate those things which archaeologists have a tendency to find. I'm not much for digging in the dirt. I simply reap the benefits.

Even so, it sounds like a fascinating profession. If I am not mistaken, most ancient languages rely on pictographs. I can only imagine how confusing that might be.

Well, I've gotten quite accustomed to it, so it's not quite as confusing as it once was. [He was also alive when said pictographs were made... not that he's saying so.]

I doubt my small praise was a boost in anything. You don't meet many non-Indians that speak Hindi.

This is true. But, I'm well traveled. I've been to India many times.

A traveler does not always learn the language of the places that they visit. Did you stay there a long time or do you just pick up language easily?

I was there for several years. [About 45 of them in the 18th century.]
