*Adam retaliates with Puppy Eyes*

You got to promise not to freak out, okay? *He isn't sure he can take his friends freaking out on him over this*

[She gives him a LOOK before she nods.]

*Adam knows that Look.*

You know how I'm not entirely normal? It's something to do with that...

*Okay, maybe it'll be better to just show her and get it over with... He quickly makes sure no one's around before closing his eyes an concentrating.

The wings unfurled slowly as Adam tried to control them (aka: not rip his clothes and knock everything within wingspan over).*

[She doesn't answer him at first since, well, she didn't like thinking about when he had lost it. Hell, that didn't even happen in her mind. But right now, she's faced with everything she's been denying, looking over those wings and...gaping for a moment. But she composes herself, surprisingly well, actually.]

...whoa.

*Adam was biting his lip while he waited for Pepper's reply.*

Is that a good 'whoa' or a bad 'whoa'?

I...don't know yet.

[She looks worried if anything else, but that doesn't stop her from moving close and trying to pet them. It was the whole, 'don't touch' rule she was keen on breaking, not that she thinks Adam would mind.]

When did this happen?

*Adam spreads the wing a bit to let her touch them. They were a light gray, just a few shades from white though the roots were a bit darker in color.*

My back was hurting for the past few days, ya'know? And I just... woke up with them.

*Well, to be fair, the blinding pain in his back woke him up and the wings he found when he opened his eyes didn't help matters*

[She runs her fingers over the feathers, admiring them before she doesn't hesitate to pull one out, looking it over before it magically is stashed away from sight. Pepper moves to look him in the eye, crossing her arms.]

And you thought that running away instead of telling your best friend was a great idea why?

*eep*

Running away isn't the term I'd use... Sabbatical maybe...

*He draws the wings back up with a sigh.*

It's not a normal problem, Pepper. And yeah, I can talk to you and the rest of Them about it, talk to my godfathers but...

*Adam paused, looking a bit distressed*

Peps, I... as far as I know, I'm the only person to ever have to go through this...

[She laughs a bit, shaking her head in what appears to be both disbelief and just, frustration but perhaps a bit of hurt at the same time.]

It's definitely not normal, not like everyone is just sprouting wings and all. But you should talk to us. I was worried sick, you know that?

[No, she's not slightly crying cause Pepper DOESN'T cry.]

I'm sorry, Peps, but it was just something I needed to do.

*He's not sure if he should hug her or not.*

I wasn't abandoning you or anything like that...

At least let us know where you're going otherwise it looks like you are just abandoning us!

[Although she wouldn't admit it, a hug would be rather nice.]

I couldn't take you leaving, Adam. So you can't.

It's alright, Pepper. *Finally hugs her* I'd never leave you all, not for long anyway.

I was thinking America... Aziraphale and Crowley are always going on about what happens over there. Sounds like there's a lot of people (He said People in such a way as to imply that the people weren't exactly people) that might be able to help me with... this.

[She leans into the hug, cause well, it was comforting to know that Adam wouldn't really leave them.] Better not.

Who? And America...why would America be able to help with a pair of wings? Not like they're sprouting wings or anything.

*Adam smiled and laughed softly. There was more to it than wings but he knew if he told her the whole truth, it would just scare her*

All kinda of weird stuff happens in America. They have aliens and bigfoot and people in black suits telling them off all the time.

[It probably would but at the same time, if she knew he was hiding it from her, she would be absolutely livid to know he doesn't trust her enough to tell her these things.]

Daily? Since when? Cause last I checked they only had to deal with the usual demons and annoying kids across the street on their lawns and stuff.

Well, maybe not Daily but it seemed to happen more often other there. *Pauses as he considers something* Though I think we get more crop circle things... Those are alien, right?
