Eh. Humble pie's nasty. Come to the proud side. [He reaches out to take her hand and tug on it teasingly.]

[drops her hand, still grinning] Ah, fine. You're missing out.

Besides, there's nothing wrong with different. [For the first time, he looks serious.]

Screw 'em. [grins] Anyway, I guarantee you're more normal than me, so if I can get along, you've got nothing to worry about.

Oh, you'd figure it out eventually. [He props his chin on one fist, showing off the head of the snake tattoo that runs along his arms.] Trust me, most of my class would say I was the least normal person in any room I was in.

See, I disagree. People notice inner differences--not as fast, but they do. And then they feel betrayed and lied to because they found out later. It's all very annoying. And the best part of the tattoo is how I got it.

[laughs] Okay. Technically I did. Not deliberately, and not in the usual sense. It mostly just... decided it was time for it to be there, so it was.

I've never actually called it magic, but it probably is.

The tattoo? [He glances at it as though deciding whether to answer.] It means I'm the snake.

Only as much as the traditional tricksters were deities. Probably less than that.
