Favorite Sin and Favorite Virtue.

...It's really refreshing to see somebody who believes that these days.

I mean the person who started all of this was a bible-thumping churchgoer who believes firmly we're all going to hell.

. . . man, that's sad. [And he means that sincerely, it's easy to tell.] Kinda means the whole point flew way, way over her head. I mean, y'know, no human being lives who doesn't have sin in them, right? It's not a thing. The point of faith in salvation is to believe that Dad loved human beings enough to want to fix that. Doesn't make much sense that He'd love them like that if there wasn't anything there worth loving.

[] That's kind of what I was trying to explain to Louise, but she just kept rattling on so I tuned her out and went to lunch.

I mean she's my friend and I kind of looked up to her, right until this. It's upsetting.

[Honestly, he doesn't even notice that he does that, so the lack of reaction doesn't register.] M'sorry, Felicity. Sucks when you find out someone you're close to thinks something like that of you.

I mean, I wouldn't give up on the friendship for it, either. Thing about someone with a mindset like that is that it never really occurs to them the way what they're saying comes across, y'know?

[] It's more then just her though. I mean lately it feels like everyone's got something to complain about and I'm the only one that's having a good time.

[] well, trying to at any rate. Ever feel that way?

Oh, yeah. Loads of big brothers, remember? And some of 'em can be real buzzkills when they want to be. [He smiles cheerfully.] Can't let it get you down, though. Or can't let it keep you down. Diligence, yeah?
