Schooling. *Shakes his head* Never could stand it, myself. Bane of my tutors.

You had tutors instead of regular school? Is that normal where you are from?

*Sort of chokes then her jaw drops. It's only when she realizes she's gaping at the man, that she closes her mouth and struggles to find the right words.* I... wh... Prince? Are you serious?

His response was odd and confusion flashed across her face. "Sadly? You don't want to be a prince?"

He smiled ruefully. "Not particularly, no."

"Why not?" She asked without thinking. Almost immediately she realized how nosy the question was and she had to glance away quickly. "I'm sorry. It's none of my business."

"Well, perhaps it's more accurate to say that I'd rather not be my father's son." His lips curved in a grim smile.

Isabel's eyes softened. "You and your dad don't get along?"

"Not since I was born." He shrugged expressively.

"I'm sure that's not true. It probably just feels that way." She tried to reassure him. With two loving adoptive parents of her own, she just couldn't imagine a father not loving his son.

He shrugged again. "He's a cold bastard. He doesn't like anyone."

"That must be hard. I'm sorry. Is that why you are here?"

He chuckled ruefully. "I'm sure it is, at least in part. I was fairly drunk when I got here."

It was so absurd she started laughing before she could think about her behavior. "Do you usually end up in another country when you get drunk?"

"No, I usually just wind up getting dragged back to my rooms by my guards." He grinned charmingly. "At least I didn't lose any of my clothes this time."
