[Fitch turned his hand over and caught Remus's hand in his] I was okay, though. They didn't beat me up or anything.

Still...the thought of someone...hurting you... [he squeezes Fitch's hand] makes me sick.

Hey, it was a few years ago. Besides, if anyone tried to mess with me now, you'd take care of it.

Bloody right I would. [protective surge again] That's a promise.

[Fitch sets his fork down and looks at Remus] I'm full. You ready to go for that carriage ride yet?

[he nods, not able to eat much] Yes I am.

[Livia bustles over and packs up the leftovers so they can take them home. She refuses Fitch's money, which embarrasses him, but she bustles them out the door] She's one of a kind. [Fitch laughs and leads Remus down the street until they reach Central Park. A sign says that the carriage will be back at 15 past the hour. Fitch checks his watch] Only 5 minutes! I think you'll really like the fountain. The jets have different colored lights in them.

[Remus smiled at Fitch] It's been some time since I've been able to enjoy different coloured lights. I'm sure I'll love them.

The fountain's pretty amazing. [As Fitch says this, the carriage pulls up. It's drawn by two large horses and the cheerful handler bids them climb aboard. Fitch gets in first and scoots over so Remus can sit beside him]

[Remus climbs in, sitting close to Fitch and leaning against him]

[Fitch puts his arm around Remus and begins pointing out various areas of Central Park to him. The driver takes the long way around and finally, around the corner, the fountain can be seen.]

[Remus tried to listen, honestly, but he simply looked out the window instead and enjoyed the comfort of the body pressed against him. It was so nice to be close to someone again]

Wow. [he shifted a little to get a better look at the fountain.]

[Fitch turned to say something about the fountain, but there was something about the way that Remus's face looked in the lights that stopped him dead. All he could do was stare, and marvel that the man sitting next to him wanted him, of all people!]

[Remus marveled at the fountain for a few long moments. He hadn't enjoyed something so small in so long. Not since before the war had he stopped to marvel at something so beautiful, well besides Harry.]

That's amazing...

Not as amazing as you. [Fitch can't stop the words from tumbling out of his mouth]

[chuckling he turned to Fitch, a smile on his face] Thanks, Fitch. [he kissed him softly] Your such a great person.

[Fitch shrugs, his hands coming up and holding Remus's face gently] I can be myself with you. For once, I'm happy to just be Fitch Cooper. [Leaning forward, he kisses Remus tenderly]

[For a moment he had a pained look on his face but then it melted away at the contact. He fisted his hand in Fitch's shirt and tugged him forward a little more to deepen the kiss]

[Fitch drops a hand down, wrapping his arm around Remus so he can hold his boyfriend close]

[Remus breaks the kiss because of the need for air. Panting he presses his forehead to Fitch's] I love you.

[Fitch is also rather breathless] I love you too. I don't have words big enough, or good enough to tell you just how much.

I know. [he nods] Me either.

Then I guess we'll be wordless together then. [Fitch grins at him]

As long as we're together I don't care.

You know, I don't care either. [He brings his lips back to Remus's]
