"No, not at all," he wheezes out a laugh in spite of the sharp, intense pain in his chest.
"Do you still have your gun? I'd very much like you to kill me right about now." He's completely serious as he hunches over, not even on his feet anymore.
She cursed softly, she hated this part with a vengeance, but she nodded all the same, "Yeah. Yeah I do, I need the security clearance first though, because if you're back outside I'll have to finish this myself." Sure, it was just a practice run, but it had taken a turn for the worse and she wasn't about to give it up as a lost cause just yet.
"Security clearance? Ariadne we can do this later -" His bitching was going to continue until he started coughing, then coughing violently and finally coughing up blood. Once he's able to breathe relatively normally again, he looks up at her with blood smeared across his mouth. "We can try again. Have some pity."
"This is already the third time we've gone through this!" She snapped, already on edge mostly because having to kill friends, even temporarily still made her cringe, "Please tell me you got the clearance before you got shot. If you did I can send you back, finish on my own and we can move on."
"You don't think I know that?" Her snapping caused him to snap right back because this is the third fucking time he's been shot. He's better than this, but the projections keep getting more and more aggressive. "I got shot whilst getting clearance, you're set to go if you can get past them."
She actually relaxed at that, the door was open, all she had to do was get back to it and they were clear, "Oh thank God." She shook her head then, "I can get past them." Probably, she hoped she could, it would be easier if she only had to watch her own back, but it would be harder without backup, she knew that.
She nodded a moment later, Firestar in hand, it was the gun she usually dreamed because it was the one she was used to in reality, "Okay." Her smile was shaky, but her hand was steady, "See you in a minute."
