[This is a nightmare. Andrew doesn't even fight it when he chokes on a sob and his eyes start watering. He pushes weakly against Willow and tries to duck his head away from her petting.]
Please--please just let her go. Please, she's not okay, it's not fair... Please, Willow, just... [He sniffs. This is a nightmare.]
[Dana goes flying, crashing into some bookcases. Dazed and bruised by the impact, she forces herself to climb to her feet again. She still, miraculously, has the pencil clutched in her grip. She launches an attack at him, with a feral yell of rage. It's a series of blows and kicks, designed to get her an opening for the stake. She has the kinetic memory, but the speed and power behind the strikes is far weaker than she's expecting.]
[She obviously a good fighter, better than he'd been expecting, but lucky for him her hits are like flies hitting a moving windshield. Completely ineffective. He reaches out to grip her throat, tugging her closer, teeth bared. It's very clear what he plans to do.]
[Xander only has a moment to react to avoid the bolt to the face, pulling Dana in the way of the bolt instead and then wrapping an arm around her neck in a choke hold so that she'd remain in front of him as a shield. He was slowly inching toward the exit.]
[The vampire's strength is such that Dana feels herself lifted up split second before the sharp agonising pain of a crossbolt hits her right shoulder. She tries to scream but her windpipe is being cut off and she can barely take in breaths, let alone get any sound out.
She's not strong enough to pull his arm away from her throat. She at least has the presence of mind to try stabbing the pencil into his arm with her left hand to make him let go. Even if it's not going to do much.
[At first, Andrew sees Mr. Giles' arrival as a blessing and he's momentarily relieved. But then he comprehends what's going to happen as it happens and shouts Dana's name. He winces, watching Dana continue to struggle against Xander, just as starting to give up against Willow.]
Mr. Giles--I--I-I'm sorry... I... [Andrew isn't sure why or how, but he... feels like this could possibly be his fault. Things so often are, after all.]
[This is all going wrong, this is all going bad, there's no way this can end without blood and, surprise surprise, it's Giles' fault that someone's bleeding right now.]
Andrew, it's fine.
[His voice is flat, dead, cold.
He can't let them leave with the two kids. Taking care to let Xander keep some distance on him, Giles will still continue his approach of the two vampires. The crossbow is visible and unloaded.]
[Xander just laughs, shaking Dana a little as he steps closer toward Willow, still inching for the exit.] You know we're not just going to let them go. Not after we went to all this trouble.
[Dana's struggles are getting weaker and her pencil appears to be doing little more than scraping across Xander's sleeve. In fact, she lets it drop in favor of clawing at the vampire's arm to try to get him to ease up on his grip. She can barely breathe and it's a desperate effort to draw in enough air to prevent herself from passing out. The rasping sounds she's making aren't pretty.]
[The stacks are blocked off. But it's no more than a temporary barricade against determined vampires.
This isn't going to be pretty.
Quick as he can, Giles reloads his crossbow and shoots at Willow. This time, he's aiming for the foot. Anything to stop them both getting out with Andrew and Dana.
He follows up on that with lunging at the two vampires as fast as he can, pulling out a vial of holy water and splashing that at Xander in the meantime. He knows they aren't that much faster than him. It's not neat, it's not tactical, it's desperate and violent and angry.]
*It doesn't hit, she gets out of the way quick enough, but it does annoy her, and hitting her Xander with the holy water does the same job. It would be easier to fight if she just let go of Andrew, that's true, but she is smart enough not to do that.*
This could have been so simple, librarian. So easy. Now here you are just --
*She gets close enough to Giles to kick him square in the chest, immediately using Andrew as a shield in case there's some stupid retaliation idea.*
[Dana stiffens at the sudden agonising pain when his fangs tear into her neck. Her eyes go wide with terror and she lets out a choked kind of scream, trying with one last burst of energy to struggle free of Xander's deathly grip.
No! She's going to die. Again. Like the one before and the one before that. Why wasn't she strong enough? Why?
Eventually the dark comes rushing up to meet her and she falls as limp as a rag doll in the vampire's arms.]
[Andrew has stopped fighting Willow dragging him along and using him as a shield and all these terrible things, and he just watched Dana get bitten now. There's nothing he can do but whimper and sob as his friend gets drained. Not even Mr. Giles can save them now. He was hoping that at least if Andrew couldn't get wrenched out of Willow's grasp, at least Dana would get free.]
Dana, no...
[Then, with that thought, Andrew feels compelled towards a hot rage. Dana never did anything. Never. She just came here probably looking for Andrew. He glares at Xander, his eyes filled with water and his face ruddy from all the panic.]
She isn't even a White Hat, you B-rated monster movie reject! She's just my friend! She doesn't even know Mr. Giles! [Maybe all this anger is coming from the part of him that's given up on trying to live through this situation, but it still scares him that he's saying it--basically signing his own death certificate and digging the ditch somewhere that'll be his grave, if he gets even that.]
[Giles grabs Xander by the hair and yanks his head off of Dana. For good measure, he pours the last of the holy water down the vampire's own throat. Whispers as he does so, loud enough only for Xander to hear.]
And this is what happens to fools who hurt them.
[Then he pulls the stake out of his pocket and drives it down at Xander's back, aiming for his heart.]
*Eyes blazing, Willow slings Andrew over her shoulder and keeps a tight hold on him before going to shove Giles away, way more aggressively than she really needs to of course. She doesn't even need to hear him.*
[Xander can't even speak, the Holy water burning his vocal chords causing him to only let out a grotesque gurgling sound as he drops Dana to the floor like a ragdoll. He's in too much pain to really notice the stake heading for his back. If not for Willow he'd be dust right now.
Stumbling back, and coughing up blood and bits of his trachea, he catches Willow's eyes in a silent thank you gestures his head to the exit for her to follow with Andrew. Then he starts to rush out the door, the pain blinding and beyond anything he's ever felt-- even his transformation into a vampire.]
[Dana hits the ground and sprawls bonelessly. She's unconscious, bleeding profusely from both the vampire bite and crossbow bolt. She's in dire need of medical intervention. Help!]
[Andrew yelps a little in shock at being thrown over the vampire's shoulder. It's sort of surreal being flung over the shoulder of a girl smaller than him, but he shakes the feeling, danger being much more prominent here. Surely in vain, Andrew kicks and pushes against Willow, hoping to knock himself off of her.]

You're seriously trying to off me with a number 2?!

*But -- a little bit even just 'cause he said to let them go -- Willow holds tighter.*

SO SORRY FOR THE DELAY
You both are smarter than this.

DO NOT EVEN WORRY

No problemo!
He drags Dana with him to get closer to Willow, making their way toward the exit]
We didn't go to the trouble for Andrew. We went to the trouble to show what happens to the little idiots who follow your example, Rupes.
[With that he leans down, fangs descending on Dana's throat.]
YAY! but /sob poor Giles is gonna beat himself up over this
