I'm not sure. [Then she mumbles about some murder case taking a while to be solved.]

[He's not going to press her, but he will listen if she needs it. He's very interested in her since he sensed her power and now he can tell she's hurting. He's incredibly close to his parents, well, his father now and his mother when she was alive. He can't imagine living without his family]

Are you hungry?

[She thinks about it for a moment before deciding.] Yes. [She shows a small smile.]

There's a sushi bar a little up the street.

[He tips his head to indicate the direction.]

Hmm. Sushi sounds good, but I'm a vegetarian. [Has to do with her power, so.] There's probably some vegetarian items for me to eat over there, right? [It's really close by, so she wouldn't mind.]

Mm, they'll have something you can eat.

[American sushi has vegatarian options, Touya knows that although he doesn't understand the appeal he's very much a meat kinda guy. He gestures for her to follow him as he starts off down the street]

Probably.

[She tags along with him.]

You don't eat any meat? What about fish?

[He knows some people don't count fish as meat, and some "vegetarians" even eat chicken.]

I don't eat any meat, even fish and chicken. [It has to do with her powers. She doesn't even want to imagine biting into some sushi and discovering out that it "moves".]

[He shrugs]

They'll probably have onigiri.

[Touya's big on meat, he'll eat just about anything but his favorite food has always been steak.]

I'm sorry.

It's fine.

[Futaba knows what it feels like to be alone. It's hard, painful even at times. But she's grown used to it.]

It's best to just move on.

[Cassandra is getting used to being on her own. It's bound to happen anyway.]

Yeah.

[Futaba waits to see if there's more to follow that word. That "yeah" is so loaded, so heavy that she knows the emotional dam in Cassandra's mind may burst]

[She tends to bottle up her emotions and suppress them. It's getting really difficult to keep this facade at this point.]

[She looks down, trying to hide some tears forming in her eyes.]

[Futaba is what happens when you succeed in locking those emotions up deep inside. They become almost unreachable and you become quiet and deceptively cold. The pain she once felt has scarred her forever, and toughened her skin. Now she tries to keep anything from touching her, anything at all. Because if your parents can leave you so utterly destroyed then anyone can.]

[Without saying anything Futaba offers her a tissue]

Thank you. [She's going to need it.]

[Don't get her wrong, she loves her parents dearly, but her family's secrets, dealing with her powers, and being on her own is stressing her out. She is still young. She shouldn't deal with these things, but... she isn't so lucky.]
