[He remembers being in the hospital. It's possibly one of his least favorite memories of all time. And he's fought his way through Hell and back.]

If it's not the needles it's tubes, or tape, or very cold instruments, or some other uncomfortable...thing of indeterminate purpose. Unnatural light that never goes out and the incessant beeping sounds. I suppose they wouldn't do all that if it wasn't helpful, somehow. [But he doesn't sound terribly convinced.]
