*doesn't even look up* No.

*still not looking up* Because I don't know where one is.

In that case, can you tell me where I could find an ice cream stand?

I'm sure the dining hall has ice cream. *now he looks up*

[polite wave] Hello.

One out of two, not bad. I haven't treated myself to ice cream in a while. How do you like your ice cream?

I don't.

Well that's a shame. [holds up forefinger, and says mock seriously] You're missing out!

Doesn't knock, doesn't care, she's just that kinda gal. Instead she flops down across from him. Well hello to you too.

He glances up at her, then back at his work. "Long time no see."

"Ja," she breathes out before look at what he is doing. Please remember social etiquette lessons. "What's new?"

He's just grading some reports. Nothing exciting. He looks up, "Got married." That's something new.

"To who?" Just to be sure, things change and she hasn't talked to Maddie since - well - it's been awhile almost a whole month.

"Maddie," he answers without missing a beat, and there's a faint smile on his lips.

"Congratulations," that's an easy response but her eyes narrow slightly at him. The idea being if he hurts her she will be displeased.

"Thanks." It's an easy response for him, too. He catches her look and figures he probably knows what it's for. He thinks he has a good handle on things now. "What about you?"

"Got married," since he lead with that she figures that she should as well. However she is a bit more guarded with her romantic life, probably because she expects people to laugh a bit too hard at the idea of her getting married or having a significant other.

Not what he was expecting. He didn't even know she was in a serious relationship. "Huh. Congratulations."

Yeah she's fucking sneaky like that. "Thank you."
