For better or for worse, I suppose.

Right now I think it's for worse.

How so?

It's like it was before, during the first war. People are losing their lives, and they'll start losing their liberties next. It's not like it was when I was a kid.

Do you...[she hesitates before she speaks again.] ...Do you think that things will end up alright?

I hope so. That's all I can say. We have more to fight for than they do, so there's that at least.

That's true enough. Everything just feels so uncertain, lately.

I know. It's like it was before, and there are so many people who want to ignore that fact.

I wish they'd come around soon; we could stand for this to be out in the open...

They won't come round til they're forced to.

That's a shame. Until then, we're fighting a secret war and what good's that? Everyone in the Order is talented, don't get me wrong, but is it enough?

It's better than no war at all. At least we're fighting. And when everyone else realizes we're at war, we will already be there, able to help, or to recruit more, or to do what we need to do.

That's true. I guess best of all would be peace, but I don't think that's possible until You-Know-Who is dead. Really dead.

[A pause.]...You don't suppose they'll let me join the Order, do you?

Not until you're seventeen. If they won't let Harry in before then, they won't let anyone in before then.

I'll be seventeen soon, though. By the holidays.

Once you're seventeen, you can join.
