No, I um... hurt my leg? [This is a really obvious lie, and he flushes, looking away. But it's not the first time he's lied to her... actually, he's managed to find excuses to stay away from the pool all summer.]

[He's a bit of a nerd, and when his mind throws out the words IT'S A TRAP in the voice of Admiral Ackbar, he almost snickers. Instead, he just nods, carefully blank-faced, and wraps his arms around his knees.] Yeah. Sure.
