Probably not. I suppose you could just point out you've got experience. You made the mistake so they don't have to. It's better than letting them take the same fall. And you know how they feel, so that's something.

There's just enough difference for this person to think he has more reason to feel sorry for himself, I think. Hard to get around that. Even knowing he really is in pain.

It's complicated. And involves things I am really not proud of and alternate time lines. So I'm literally telling myself not to repeat my mistakes. Very odd.
