Pride Parade today. Traffic'll be hell.

San Fran? Tell me about it. I'm headed there with some friends later today. They told me that I needed to walk on the rainbow side, now that my girlfriend and I aren't together. *Eyeroll*

It's a blast, dude. And I gotta be there this time especially. I mean, my friends are marching in it. Plus it's... like, historic.

Are you marching? How's it historic? I mean, I know gay marriage is legal in Cali now, but.....

No. But I have friends who are. I'll be watching and possibly joining in the after-party. It's the thirtieth anniversary, I believe, and the biggest one in the whole country or something. At least, that's what everyone's been saying. And the marriage thing, yeah. I guess if you don't want to consider historic it's still pretty much... really huge. And important. ~~And glittery.~~

Oh. See, I didn't know that. I'm about as gay-savvy as a 1950's sawmill worker.

Heh. Well, you actually live here, and you can't really avoid it. Especially when a load of your friends are enthusiastic GLBT-rights activists, you don't have a choice. So where're you from?

I'm actually from Hamburg, Germany, but my parents moved to the US when I was still a baby.

Cool. I've never moved out of state, let alone to another country. Always wanted to go to Germany.

It's really nice. The people are great there.
