*Chris takes it awkwardly, before repositioning it, grabbing one end of the staff in his right hand while positioning his body so that the other end was pointing towards the ground with his left hand near the staff's center*
*It isn't as if Justin has had a lot of practice with the old fashioned quarterstaff, because he didn't, he preferred swords, but he had been a warrior long enough to be able to pick up just about any weapon with a certain level of confidence. When he led the staff in his hands it just looked like it belonged there and he looked perfectly comfortable*
I'd prefer no scarring or permanent injury. Are those terms acceptable?
That's fine. *He repositions the staff, this time into a more defensive position. His hands shift, and after a moment, he doesn't look so awkward with it.*
*The blow comes more swiftly then Justin might have expected and while his body rolls with the strike, it seems likely that it will bruise. He's still for a second or two before swinging the staff hard at his opponents side. An almost retaliatory look in his eyes*
