"I'm already married but I love the idea. It's something that for the better part is left up to lots of unknowns." Jack looks down at the wedding band on his hand that's holding a bag of take out he brought for Alisa and himself.
He thinks for a moment. "I think Liz and Owen might be next. Those two deserve each other and a bit of happiness in their lives."
Jack laughs. "Of course you do, I'm sure to some me settling down is a bit of a surprise." He looks at the salad container that he got from a posh cafe and he puts it down on the table. "My big happy family." Jack offers with a bright smile as he looks over his shoulder at Gwen.
"Me either, but then again like I said, I'm still a surprise to most." Jack's got that reputation of a swinger and while he doesn't always mind it? He's comfortable with people thinking this for the most part. "Maybe even Ianto and Patrick, the other Jack with his Gwen?"
"Still it's just that uncharted unknown that makes me love the entire concept. Until death do us part..." Jack's voice softens as he thinks of the people he's made that vow to in his past time lines. He's still shaken by the fact he could of lost Alisa, but he was her Superman that night.
"Well, I'm really happy for you all," and she was, she even tried to sound like she was, but there was that slight hint of sadness in her voice. Gwen had almost been there, she'd found the ring Jack was going to give her, but then she'd ended up here and was having to start over. And while Gwen was trying to keep herself busy and not think about everything she'd lost. It wasn't easy.
Each Jack was a constant reminder of what she'd lost. "And you're not sucha surprise for me Jack. Can't say you getting hitched is a shock, I mean you've done it before."
Jack listens and he smiles. He lowers his head when he notices the shift in Gwen's voice. "Sorry, I shouldn't of brought it up. It's one of the reasons we try to be low key.." Jack didn't like feeling like he was going to rub things in.
He opens up his arms and he smiles. "If you need one of these, I'm always giving them away."
"Of course I have. Owen's come along way since Diane.." Jack was always worried about him.
"Don't Jack, you all have a right to be happy about being with someone you love, I mean I was pretty vocal about it when I was back home. There was this one time Ianto walked in on Jack and I on his desk, Ianto just stood there until Jack asked him if he was going to join in or leave, but decide and close the door. You can't stop living and being happy, you can't walk on egg shells because it might hurt someone. Life's too short."
She smiled a little and shook her head, "I think I'll go cold turky for a while, probably safer that way."
"Oh, I'm very happy about being in love with her. The same goes for Alisa..." Jack listens to Gwen, he wonders if playing it low would eventually hurt their relationship.
He's going to need to stop that. The two of them are and it showed during her rescue. The mood he was in is slowly fading. "I've got an unused hug. It's a shame..."
Jack smiles and he grabs the container with the salad. "I'm going to waste it. I think Alis will appreciate an extra one."
"I remember mine clearly." Jack smiles, as he sits down in a chair on the patio outside of his room. "It was on the beach in Rincon, Puerto Rico. Alisa's from there and it was absolutely beautiful..." Jack's eyes light up as he remembers that day and it's been sometime. "It's been over a linear year since that happened."
Jack laughs a little bit and he looks at Lyssa. "Let me guess, the two of you got drunk."
"Oh that sounds beautiful." No mistaking that look of Jack's. He looked so happy.
"We were in the Vegas system, I remember there was a casino we had to run out of." She started to laugh. "Then there were drinks. It gets a little hazy after that, I was showing Owen my world. I've been with him about four years now. Think two of those we've been married. But I'm no good at time. I don't even know when our anniversary is." She shrugged. "I don't know maybe we should do it again."
"It was lovely." Jack's got some of the plants inside of his TARDIS. He'll have to show Lyssa one day the little tropical garden Alisa made one day. "It was a perfect day, the ocean was as blue as my eyes that day she told me. And she was that perfect day."
Oh, Jack's feeling right today, he listens to Lyssa about her wedding. He smiles and he seems to love just listening to her. "It's okay, she's the only one who keeps tabs of the linear year. Honestly, other than that it seems like life times since we've been together."
Lyssa would love to see the garden. Back in Cardiff's hub she'd always loved the little alien greenhouse Owen had set up.
"I think so, I am. Sure we fight but anyone who doesn't is lying. I'm sure he'd tell me if he wasn't happy." She rolled her eyes at that, Owen liked to make it clear when he wasn't happy with things usually. "I don't know what I'd be without him anymore."
Owen's old greenhouse, Jack never forgot that one and maybe he can let the doctors make one here on the HUB grounds. Its always warm and sunny here so an alien garden isn't impossible.
"Fighting is a healthy part of a relationship. Trust me Alisa and I've gotten into our share of arguements. It doesn't mean we don't love one another." Jack knows that and hopes Alisa would say the same. "I don't know what I would do without Alisa.. I came close to loosing her that day in San Pedro."
If Jack got them to do that Lyssa would be so very happy and spend a lot of time in there.
Lyssa looked at him. "That was horrible, the whole thing. I'm still not sleeping right from it. We'd have got her back for you whatever. I tell Owen I'd end the world if anything happened to him. I think it scares him, scares me. I don't think it would end well. But importantly she's got you to talk care of her until she's better. So you better look after her good." Lyssa smiled.
He can't forget the smell of one of the other modules that was going long before they got there. The smell of burning bodies is absolutely horrible and the fact Alisa was in one of them made it worse for Jack. "I don't think anyone who was on that mission has been sleeping well at all." Jack knows he hasn't and Alisa isn't either thanks to the pain from the gunshot wounds.
"This would of broke me in half." Jack's voice deepens and he then looks back to where his room is behind him. He can see Alisa's just resting as best she can right now. "She's got the best ear in the universe and I'm an excellent nurse. Mmm, maybe in the next life time I'll give that career a try."
