There was a low 'yoo-hoo' of a whistle from the shade inside the former convenience mart at the far side of the lot. Tobi tended to steer clear of other survivors, but another woman, seemingly alone, she figured it was worth a try.
"Shit." She slammed her hand into the side of the last pump, annoyed that another set of them were tapped fully dry. Hearing the 'yoo-hoo' she about jumped out of her skin while wheeling around, going for the pistol on her side. Even as the person came into her view, she still pulled the gun from the holster.
Tobi had her own shotgun braced against the crook of her arm, she wasn't stupid. Hopeful, sometimes, but not stupid, "You clean?" Not that she had any reason to just trust the other woman's word on it, but she'd take what she could get.
"Think I'd be shuffling and groaning if I wasn't." She called back to the other woman while slowly lowering her gun, though she kept a hold of it. "You?"
"Unless you have a death wish, think we all try to avoid getting bit." Her finger twitches a bit on the trigger before she takes the chance and puts her gun away while heading toward the woman. "I'm clean, no bites or nothing."
There was a moment's hesitation before she let the shotgun drop, still holding it comfortably in the crook of her arm, but pointing groundward, "Me too. Where you headed?"
"Leaves you a lot more vulnerable." Her hands came to rest in the back pockets of her jeans as she left about a foot between her and the other woman. "You come across any other survivors or am I the only one?"
She shook her head, "Nobody worth mentioning. And I've been careful." Probably lucky too, but mostly careful. She scratched the back of her neck before offering a hand, "Tobi."
"Least your being careful, keeping running across those who haven't." She takes the hand offered to her, giving a firm shake, "Seattle." She had a feeling that sounded rather odd but, she had given up going by her actual name months ago.
She nodded, she'd run across weirder, she'd been in a study group with a Daytonah once, so city names didn't even blip on her radar, "Nice to meet you. And careful kind of runs in my family."
