[He'd been heading to make his own coffee when he stopped in the doorway looking at the taller already controlling the coffee machine. Catching himself before saying what he wanted to say, he cleared his throat.] Never imagined you on coffee duty, Stetson...

[He stiffens briefly as if like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar before relaxing completely and turning to face Coulson.] It was not by choice...

[He shrugs casually, eager to leave it at that, and turned back around. He knew exactly how Coulson preferred his coffee from watching the first time...and he fixed a cup to that specification now. He offered the coffee to the agent when it was ready.]

That isn't.... wasn't necessary. [He looks at the coffee mug a bit surprised. Regardless of who gave it to him, he never expected the kindness] Thank you.

[Taking the coffee, he hedged a little until he moved closer to the agent. It always felt like... there was something off about his presence. But he found he liked that different feeling.] Can I help you with it?

[He turns around with a small frown but straightens out his expression to carefully neutral quick enough on realizing whose speaking to him.] It's temporary, I assure you.

[He pauses with a small frown as if trying to remember.] It was...whatever was already here.

[Pepper is in no need of coffee, as she is already on her third cup. What she is in need of is her essentially in name only CEO, who stepped out to save New Jersey from some sort of thing. A large thing, she's told. She's busying herself by going over expense reports.]

My question is this, Agent...[Peers at his lapel.] Huh. You guys usually are labeled. Anyway, my question is this: with effectively unlimited funds, why not just invest in unbreakable ceramic ware? Surely that would be more cost effective than going through forty mugs each time these kids get together for dinner.

[He raises a brow but makes no comment on his lack of label. That was something new the PA herself must have insisted upon. But it mattered little to him either way.] Stetson. And that is really more of a question for the financial department than me, Ms. Potts.

But if by 'unlimited funds' you're implying that we have access to Stark's billions then you have your answer right there: it's your call.
