Getting what you want is bittersweet.

It always seems that way. But I'm convinced there have to be a few exceptions.

From time to time, but I think the end result is as good as it is bad.

Doesn't that basically defeat the purpose of getting what you want, though? If the result is always neutral what's the point of even wanting anything?

Because the things I want are things I don't believe people get. A place to feel safe. A place to be themselves.

Yet I found it, on the condition of knowing I have to give it up for twenty years.

Sometimes, yeah.

You think it isn't every time? Lucky you.

I guess maybe part of me hopes some people get spared it. I don't know.

Course, it's not all bitter so it's not so bad, you know? Not all the time.

No. There are just moments, you know? Every so often a moment stops you, and it sort of has that bitter sting to it.

Or those moments that are so sweet and perfect and everything changes... and you know they won't last, can't last and it's fucked up because you cling to the sweet knowing you're going down eventually.

Yeah. And when the bitter comes you're left sitting there wondering where the sweet moments got to. And why they don't last.
