What if we don't? What if every story is meant to be exactly how it's written. Even if we've never read the book. We can't change our lives. Maybe fate knowns our every choice.
I make my living, pretty successfully, in the practice of telling a story and struggling with how to tell it. I know there are multiple ways I could tell a story, some better than others, some just a little different.
Maybe the range of choices we have is limited, but I still believe we have the choices.
Cinderella. She wasn't a nice girl at all. She was the one that wished for her father to die because he left her. The wicked stepsisters weren't wicked, and the stepmother really was a sweet woman who just wanted to help the girl through her fathers death.
Yeah but it's false. It's never as good as the original even if it has a happy ending the second time. The audience knows too much, expects the outcome, and learns nothing about themselves. You're almost better off just writing the sequel.
Fate is fate. You aren't going to change it and to think you can is incredibly arrogant. But I don't think of fate the same way a lot of people do. I think there are certain things that are going to happen in our lives regardless of what we do but I think there are infinite ways to reach those points. When we are done, we die. No point in sticking around after the mission is done.
*She smiles back as she shook his hand* Arguing is probably one of the safest things you can do with me but I hear ya on the good points thing. I hate it when I've got my heart set on something people come in with logic and just rain on my parade. It's enough to make you want to thump them on the forehead.
Couple of years now, nothing big. I only get into the places because of who my dad is and my friends but other then that I'm full of surprises. I write as well but I don't normall tell people that. My sister says it's 'off putting' or something.
Being a writer sometimes show's you have softer side to what women want. Maybe I don't mind because I'm not looking for anyone at this moment in time. The right person will find me when they find me.
Cool, always wanted to be a cop but dad didn't like the forces much.

Yeah I know that one.
It's like when you try to tell someone a joke and they ruin it with logic.Lucky being a DJ I don't get much logical arguments. Most are too drunk to even put together a sentance.
