Making an apology is never a bad move. It's best to be sincere about it, people hate false apologies. If you're genuine about it, eventually whatever you did will be forgiven unless you did something completely terrible.
Yes, that does make things considerably harder. Of course, I usually apologize even when they don't want to talk to me and keep apologizing until they do. Even if it's just them telling me to stop apologizing.
Is there a good way to yell at someone? That's irrelevant anyway. If you're genuine about being sorry and know that you made a mistake, I can't see why you can't be forgiven.
