What are you yelling at?

[Natalie winces slightly at being jumped. If observant enough, Maxsaya might notice a momentary brightless to the light - in the area - and then nothing.]

Just... practicing a speech.

[Nope, she sees no such a thing which should prolly be counted as a shame. She'll chuckle a bit.]

Well... you're not gonna practice speech while talking at nothing or with no one.

Seemed sort of mean to yell at someone, though. [They'd deserved it, anyway.]

Sorta did, who were you "practicing" to yell at?

Mom; she gets... overprotective.

[There is a wolf nearby, watching you curiously. Forgive him, he's nosy about strange things, though he counts as a strange thing himself.]

[She glances over after a moment, a little annoyed still.]

[He tilted his head to the side and whined softly. What's wrong?]

[A little sigh. Not the wolf's fault.]

[He hesitated, then slowly crept closer, head low and ears back. Not a threat, he promises. Just concerned because you're upset about something.]

[She's fiiine.

Well no.

She's mad.

But she'll be fiiiine. She thinks.]

[When he's close enough he nudges her hand just a little and flicks one ear a little. He'll listen, if she wants to rant. Or he can just hang around being cute, he's good at that!]

[Small snort.] Don't think i don't know there's someone in there.

[He snorts and gives her an offended look. Of course there's someone here. He may be more wolf than human, but a regular wolf wouldn't care about an upset girl, and he does. So he's clearly not a regular wolf.]

[A small, amused, smile.]

[See, amused he likes. He sits near her, tail wagging a little. He just wants to be friends!]

Amused she'll give him. For now. With a small smile.

[Shadows and strangeness are kind of her territory, so of course she sees it. She's watching with a smirk.]

Would it be rude to ask what set you off?

Mom's being overprotective.

Oh, yeah overprotective always gets irritating.

Quickly. [Ugh.]

Oh yes. My mother was overprotective of me when I was young. I hated every second of it.

Mom hasn't grown out of it yet.
