At the time I was mortal, but I did later have some mortal friends too. I've never quite been able to break my ties with them.

I think if I'd never been mortal myself, I'd be more like everyone else. So I suppose I've got something to be thankful for.

I've never heard of one being so thankful for having lived as a mortal. It's admirable.

It gave me a different perspective is all. Also a better appreciation for what mortals are capable of than many seem to have.
