The system wasn't made for real people. I know another game system where in lieu of alignment, you select your character's defining virtue and vice. When in doubt on how your character would act, you can fall back on those core principles of who they are.

But the world doesn't work that way. People can be lawful stupid, and calculating good.

There is a popular roleplaying game that includes, as part of character creation, ranking your character on a three-by-three matrix as to their level of lawfulness and goodness--lawful, neutral, chaotic and good, neutral, evil. Thus, a character may be lawful evil or neutral good.

But none of those fits me, when it comes down to it.
