Don't let the name fool you, we're really not that thankful. It's really more of a celebration of gluttony and family dysfunction at this point.

Yeah, I'm still not sure about it either. But I kinda missed a few years of school, so, maybe it was covered in one of those classes. Some of the soup kitchens out there dish out some pretty awesome pie, though, regardless of the day's questionable history.

It would make more sense to extend the entire break until the Christmas holiday. A full month of giving thanks seems much more appropriate.

It's the whole month of July back home. But here, July is for remembering soldiers. People try to schedule what they can, I suppose.
