[Selene turns her head surprised at the voice, blinking at the man with the camera held up aimed at her. She blinks, but does as requested and beams a smile over at him for a moment.]

Not that I don't appreciate the sudden photo shoot, but, why are you taking a picture of me?

[A brilliant white flash and he lowers the camera as he thanks her.]

"School project, Ma'am. I'm Jeremy by the way. Thanks for not whacking me over the head with anything. I've been getting that all day."

[Ma'am? Made her feel old. A small frown made her eyebrows crease for a moment, but then it smoothed out as she smiled once more at him.]

No problem. Though it isn't any surprise you've been getting hit. Perhaps you should inform your subject of what you are doing before so suddenly snapping a picture of them? Otherwise you just look a tad bit like a creeper sweetie.

[He blinks at her words and then laughs, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment.]

Oh... I see. Just realized that now. I'll remember that next time and thanks for telling me. It's just I'm doing this for a personal art project of mine.

[Well, isn't he just cute. Actually, more than cute, but that wasn't the point.]

You just realized that? [She laughed as well and shook her head slightly.] I hope your poor head isn't covered with bruises. So, does this mean my face will be a part of some artistic collage?

I've been through worse, trust me! To make art one has to go through obstacles. I guess mine is purses and bumps to the head. And this is for a story tree I'm making, actually. It's for a festival I'm part of.

Worse than a whack to the head? Makes me wonder what kind of art you've been working on before. [She teased, her flirting instinct kicking in. But then she tilted her head.] A festival huh? Sounds like fun. I'm sure you must be a wonderful artist then.

[Notices the teasing and responds.]

An artist must always be willing to go under harm's way for great beauty. Thanks for your support. A lot of my relatives think otherwise for me.

I see. I just never knew the harm came in the form of designer hand bags.

[Smiling, she arches a brow at the last comment.]

Why would they think otherwise? Are they not supportive?

Besides my Mum and Dad, no. They think this is just a 'phase' of mine and got miffed when I showed otherwise.

I see, well, at least your parents support you. [The subject of her own parents though was a very, very touchy subject. Her smile remained sincere as she thought about them, perhaps a different look touching her eyes though.]

Uhm, well, do you need anymore pictures of me? Because if so, I think I would like to check a mirror, just to make sure I don't look too hideous.

[He notices the look in her eyes and wonders if he should comment on them. He decides it's best he doesn't. It's not in his place, or anyone, to poke around in others' past.]

Actually, I could use a few more pictures of my subjects. Easier to choose for the story tree then. Up for it?

Of course I am. I'm usually up for anything anyways, so why not a photo shoot? [She chuckles, the look gone as fast as it had come. She had gotten quite good at hiding the bad memories. No need for them now anyways.

Cute guy. Boy. She wondered briefly how old he actually was.

She wasn't exactly old. He just looked very...young. She hoped he was at least 18. 20 would be nice though. Or her age, 25.

Why was she speculating this right now?]

I do hope this is actually for an art project and you aren't just a creepy guy who likes to collect photos of strange women in the park. Because then I would just be helping out a person who should be locked up and I don't know how I would feel about that.

I swear, I swear -- It's for an art project. I'm not one of those guys who just carry a camera around so they'll have an excuse to talk to cute ladies and pretend it's for the arts.

[Though he's smiling, there is enough annoyance in his tone to show he was miffed at the very idea of someone doing that. Using arts as a way to hit on people instead of doing it for the very sport and passion for it.

Fiddling with his camera, trying to correct it for any flaws it had, he continued to talk to Selene cheerfully, mostly his Photography classes to explain what he was doing with his camera, showing enthusiasm and much knowledge for a college class he did take back then.]

Anywhere you want to start for this shoot?

[She hears the annoyance in his voice and wonders briefly if she had said something offensive. Selene hoped not, she hadn't meant to at least, seeing as she had only been joking.

But then he moved on as he seemed to concentrate on his camera, listening with surprising interest as she surreptitiously ran her fingers through her hair to make sure it looked alright.]

Oh, well, you're the photographer...anywhere you think I would look okay?
