*Well, that's something you don't see every day, even as an FBI agent. She kneels and automatically feels for a pulse, her other hand reaching for her cell phone to call it in.*
[There's no pulse. There's no nothing. Just the stillness and coldness of death. At least for the first second or two. Then, still not breathing, his pulse lurches back under her hand.]
*She blinks, and almost drops the phone. She's a doctor--she knows the chill of dead skin when she feels it, but that's unmistakably a heartbeat. Shoving the phone back in her purse, she holds her other hand just over his mouth. No, definitely not breathing.*
Sir? Can you hear me? *She doesn't sound like she expects an answer.*
*The Master's expression is probably best described as 'the agony of indecision'.
*If it was anyone else he'd probably have eaten them already, but he knows how much Jack hates having to regrow everything and Jack has been nice to him lately . . .
[He comes back around relatively quickly, spot's the Master and gets back to his feet fairly quickly and with something that'd be a glare if he had more focus in the moment.]
[She kneels down beside him. There's no point in letting Jack come back to life on his own. She doesn't know how long he's been there so she kneels down besides him and just waits.]
[It takes a minute or two, but not much longer than that. When he comes back it's the typical, abrupt, heart slamming back to life, gasp for air that actually chokes him at first and eyes flying open. Being aware floods back shortly after that, while he's scrambling himself back up so he's at least sitting up properly, just in case whatever killed him is still around. When he sees her he sort of focuses and looks... well more confused, actually.] Alisa?
[Gem hurries silently to the side of the dead man, hoping he is just injured and she might be able to help. But as her hand touches his cold one, she doesn't find any life in him to save. Her expression is sad for him, a few tears running down her cheeks. If only she had been here sooner...]
