There's also faith, love, generosity and family. I suppose the season brings out both the best and worst in humanity, but seeing the good things brings me joy. I suppose we've both got selective vision, then. [small smile]

Well... *smile turns genuinely fond for a moment* I suppose I associate positive things with my adoptive "family". *he thinks of the Fallen and devils closest to him; of Belial and Lillith and Asmodeus* Though my family celebrations tend to involve orgies and the like. *the wicked grin is back*

I know. And His birth wasn't intended to be such a huge celebration anyway, even if it had been the right date; it was His death and renewal we hoped they would remember. I suppose the pagan Yule celebrations were too popular, and as I said, there is a lot of good to be seen at this time, so I cannot condemn it.

Oh that's simple enough. *plucks at his gloves a little; the weather is cool up here* It's human nature, you know? Even with the Resurrection afterwards there's so much suffering and death in the lead-up to your Easter celebrations that a triumphant ending can't quite overpower it. Christmas though, it's a much more cheerful thing to the mortals I'd reckon.

...though having early Christians sneakily place the date near several pagan celebrations certainly helped foster the festive mood. *grins*

What can I say? I'm such a Devil. *chuckles and winks*
