I take it you know this person well. Mortals send each other gifts on their birthdays, yes? [Only a mortal would be able to remember and celebrate the anniversary of his or her birth. Gods lived too long to keep count.]

"I do, it's my player. She's not happy about her birthday so I thought I'd do my best to attempt to cheer her up. Typically they do give one another gifts on their birthdays. Guess it's a show of thought and well wishes. Things of that manner."

Why is she unhappy if this is her special day?

You should tell her to leave you be for a while so that she can go and have fun. Unless she enjoys writing here? In which case I shall try to be entertaining.
