What keeps you from the one?

Traveling for work. I end up spending weeks away from home at a time.

Ah. I don't think we could do that.

It's not easy, but the time we do get to spend together makes it worthwhile.

To be blunt, I think we'd both lose our minds if we couldn't touch each other for more then a day at a time.

Maybe when I get the chance to settle down with her, I'll feel the same. At the moment it's just not our time.

Nope, can't say that I have.

Ever drifted away from The One without either of you noticing until it's too late, or had then stomp all over your heart and leave you a sorry state of a man in a rented house rather than the one you paid for?

I'm fortunately lacking those experiences, but I'm going to take an educated guess and say you have.

It jades you a little to the idea of there just being one person who's made for you.

I could see how it would.

The idea of a person's one true love is a romantic notion, but really, any two people who honestly committed to each other could make a long term relationship work.

How far apart do you live?

Depends on the day. I get shipped around to lot of different places for work. She's been patient enough to wait for me.

What job do you do to move around a lot?

It's sort of in the realm of paramilitary and law enforcement, but not an MP exactly and I'm still the low guy on the totem so I get shipped around to a bunch of different places.

Hopefully, they'll get get me stationed somewhere a bit more long term and then the two of us can settle down together.
