*He eyes the cub, then attempts to touch his mind.* Are you lost, kiddo?

*He stiffens* No, not lost. I'm looking for a safe place.

I'm not so sure this is it, kiddo. My lunch was here spying on my ward. *He tosses an unidentifiable body part toward him.* But it tastes pretty good, if you're hungry.

*He quickly drags the food toward himself* Yes, I'm hungry thank you.

I'm sure I can find you someplace safe, but you'd still be a bit on your own there.

I've always been on my own. Nobody wants a kid like me. *gnaws on the meat*

And what, exactly, is a kid like you? *He stopped eating to look at him.

Ruined my parents marriage.Wasn't supposed to be able to do this *He kept eating*

*He canted his large head to look at the cub.* That much have been odd, being born with it. How old are you, cub?

*He looked over* It was a surprise. I'm eleven.

*He nods, then returns to his food.* And you've been on your own for how long, cub? *While he asked his questions, he was trying to think of someplace safe for the boy, someplace where he could relax and where food was easily found. But someplace that wasn't a zoo.*

While. *He kept eating, wanting to get as much as he could before he had to run.*

How do you feel about Japan? I know a place with plenty of food and protection. The land owner is someone I know. She is not often there, but it is possible to sleep under the house.

The pictures look nice. I wouldn't want to bother anyone though.

Cub, you would be no bother, I'm certain. She might even appreciate the company. *He stood and carried the rest of the body to him, then licked his head before laying down next to him.* If you decide not to go now, that's fine. *He nipped the cub's shoulder, drawing just a bit of blood.*

*He leaned into him, eagerly digging into the gift* How would I get there? *He flinched at the bite*

*He licked the bite clean and rested his head on his back.* Now, all you have to do is call me and I will take you. Now that I have a taste of your blood, I will know if you need me. *He closed his eyes and listened to him eat.* You should not have to be completely alone in this world. I will gladly ferry you to and from, so that you can feel safe.

Maybe after a nap I could go. Thank you for your help. *He kept eating, letting out a little purr underneath the larger cat.*

*He nodded slightly and answered the purr with one of his own.* If you are still hungry after that, let me know. I will find you something else to fill your belly.

*He settled down continuing to work through his meal* I have been very hungry.Thank you for the food.

Of course. A growing cub should have all the food he can stomach, then some extra, just for good measure. What's your name, kiddo? I'm Grady.

*He settled down, eyes closing to nap himself*
