*Sam shows up, still in scrubs and out of breath. She's late and as she looks around she realizes that she has no idea what this guy looks like. Somehow she doubts that he would look like the stereotypical Lord of the Rings style wizard she has pictured in her head.
Going to the table next to him, Sam approaches an elderly man nursing a coffee.*
[No, no Lord of the Rings-esque looking wizard here. He's in his late 40's, maybe a bit ragged looking after a long day. But he'd probably be a bit surprised to be thought of as elderly. His suit jacket is on his chair and his tie has been loosened slightly, but he still looks rather professional.]
That's right. You must be the young lady Terrence told me about.
*She was actually address the man next to Eion but once he speaks up she turns her attention to him and smiles.*
Oh hi! Yes, I'm Samantha Cole. *She offers her hand.* I'm sorry I was late. I was supposed to be done with my shift 2 hours ago and I was going to run home and change first but things got crazy at the hospital. I couldn't get away and I didn't have your number to tell you I was running behind.
May I sit? *She asked, revealing some of those good manners her parents tried to instill in her.*
Terrence mentioned something about you on the field too. Are you some kind of agent? Does the government employ people like you or do they not know what you are?
I am. [He pulls out his FBI badge and shows it to her. It denotes Special Agent Eion Stanfield on it.] Honestly, not many people there know I have magic. I tend to keep it secret seeing I'd rather not have Assistant Directors say that I need to take a psych eval.
*Having a seat, she took a look at the badge he presented her. She wasn't an expert but with a dad in politics, she had seen a real badge on occasion and as far as she could tell it was real. His comment about the psych eval made her smile a little bit.*
I know what you mean. There was this DOA that came into the hospital a few weeks ago. It looked mangled and obviously dead a little while. So we took it down to the morgue and the guy decided to wake up and start attacking the orderly with me. He... it chased me up the stairwell but when other people ran to my rescue, it jumped out a third story window. So despite the fact that the orderly nearly had his throat torn out, that the body was declared dead by the EMT and confirmed by myself, and the fact that he jumped naked out a third story window onto concrete yet still managed to get away without a trace, the second I uttered vampire my boss ordered a psych eval.
Maybe he didn't believe any of the story up to and including your deduction of what your DOA was. I'm glad you're all right though and hope the orderly pulled through.
Not quite, but often when someone is infected, they're near death anyway. Besides, your friend may have been drained without being infected too. Not everyone who is bitten transforms. Some, well, perish from the blood loss.
*Sam nodded for a moment taking in her new information.* The real reason I wanted to meet you, is because I don't feel safe. The guy I've been seeing is pretty tangled up in all this vampire shit and I need a way to protect myself. Terrence said you might be able to help me.
*She had to think about that.* Ideally, it would just be something to ward him off or like personal protection. But I think it would be dumb not to have something more extreme on hand... just in case.

I know how getting caught at work can be. If I'm in the field, I'm there until the situation has been handled.

He's pulling through but I'm still worried. He was exposed to the infection. If he doesn't die can he still turn?
no subject
No, a person has to die before transforming. But it'll take some time for the infection to get out of his system.
I'm so sorry for leaving you hanging. RL (AKA guy issues) sort of took over last week.
So it can get out of his system? *Sam sort of sighs with relief.* I thought once you were bit you were done for.
Sorry to hear that :(

Hey sweetie, I'm going to let the Terry thread drop but I want to keep going with this one.
That's fine
The other option is a quick escape device. That might be a way to get out of danger should the situation escalate.
