Ivy is sort of missing the strange manor with lemonade in the pipes. This place is magical, and she likes that but she doesn't like that Ianto is unhappy.
"Most fathers take their children camping at some point in their lives." She offers. "When we return home, I can sell over processed cookies door-to-door, if you'd like." Ivy shivers at the idea of Girl Scouts, but maybe that will make Ianto feel better.
Ianto is missing the manor and TARDIS period. The one Doctor made quick work of running off with Jack's TARDIS even if it was brief while he was outside.
He's looking a bit out of place among the citizens of this planet. "I know. I just had a bad experience with camping at one point." He peers down at the little red dragon that seems intent on following him everywhere. "Girl scouts right? If you want to I can sign you up when we get home."
Ivy doesn't like camping either, she just assumed Ianto was trying, like he does. She appreciates it but she REALLY hates camping.
"When will your boss's TARDIS return? I believe I left my crayons on her." Ivy walks over to help Ianto with whatever he's doing, glancing a moment at the dragon. "I am surprised. I did not think I'd see these again for a long time."
Ianto does try seeing Patrick always seems to be comfortable with the idea. He never liked it, the cannibals in the Beacons made sure camping would never be a favorite past time of his.
"I don't know. The Doctor with the browncoat said he was borrowing it. This could be awhile until he comes back." Ianto mutters and he looks over to the tent the people of this camp gave to them to use. "He said something about Rio."
The dragon listens to Ivy as if he understands what's being said. "Again? What do you mean by again?"
"Then I will help you make camp until he returns." Ivy starts picking up smaller items, tidying up the camp site Ianto, Patrick and she are staying in.
Ivy reaches out and pats the dragon, her slip not entirely unintentional. "I have not told you all about what I know." She looks at Ianto seriously. "Would you like me to tell you know or should we wait for Patrick?"
"If you want to you can." Ianto goes to help her to pick up the larger items and he places them inside of the tent. He looks at the items the people offered him and he goes to look at the strange clothing.
Then of course there's a sword among the mess and he stares at it for a moment. "I'm not sure what these people want with us."
He looks back to Ivy and he finds somewhere to seat himself. "We should wait for Patrick."
At least The Doctor allowed him to get a change of clothing and he looks at his regular clothes. He didn't wear a suit for this occasion and he's starting to miss Los Angeles more and more. "I want to go home. Maybe I'll close that cafe and just focus on work with my friends."
He muses to himself and he looks at the dragon that's happy to keep by Ivy. "I suppose it is. At least this little guy isn't looking at me like a snack."
There's some food and Ianto grabs a sleeve of Jammie Dodgers and he offers one of the biscuits to Ivy.
She pets the dragon after she sits down, listening to Ianto. "Is that what you'd like?" She takes the treat and offers a bit to the dragon, knowing the right way to feed it and not get bitten.
"If you enjoy your cafe, you should keep it. I will need to go to school soon." Which is completely superfluous, but she knows it must be done.
The little dragon is happy to snatch up the offered cookie and he happily nom on it. "I'll see what happens when we get back home. I'll have to hope we'll get a bit more time to enjoy it." He's wondering if they're going to follow linear time or not. Time Travel is a confusing habit of Torchwood's lately.
"I do enjoy the cafe. Ah, yes school. When we get back that's another thing I'll have to look into." Ianto knows its a moot point for Ivy but he still has to do it. "I think I'm going to retire from time travel for a bit."
Ivy doesn't understand it very well either. It was always science fiction to her before now and there are many conflicting things written about time travel.
"Where do the other children go to school?" She doesn't want to be alone, though she won't admit that to him.
"I don't know. I'm sure that's something everyone's thinking about." He finds a bale of hay for a seat and he sits himself down. "The children here don't exactly live a normal life." He cracks a bit of a smile at the thought. "And, we have enough children to form our own school."
"I don't think any class room on Earth can come close to providing the knowledge that we have access to. We could ask The Doctor to help teach you lot."
"Perhaps we should." Ivy suggests. "Many children are educated at home. Perhaps you could do the same with the children here."
She comes over and sits next to him. "I know everything." Ivy says simply. She's not bragging, just stating facts. "Though computers can cause..."Ivy trails off, wondering how to explain this. "Difficulty. In more than one way."
"I know many children are educated at home. I'm not the parents but I'm sure they would see the logic behind it. I would." Ianto's sure they would miss out and he can't help but to laugh. "We've got a small class room already."
He looks at Ivy and he raises an eyebrow. "Let me guess magic and technology tend to clash." He looks at the people in the village and everything resembles a comic book convention. "We still need to find out why we're here."
And here Ivy thought she was being rather sneaky about her true nature. It just goes to show that she might know a lot but her people skills are complete crap.
"That is correct." She nods, looking at Ianto nervously. "I am very magical and technology does not last long around magic."
She looks around then stands. "We should ask." She reaches for Ianto's hand. "If you do not know the answer to something, you should make every effort to find it."
"Still there's something that kids miss out on when they're not in a proper school. Then again there's numbers. Still the ones we have here are rather young." Ianto sighs, and he looks at Ivy. "So you maybe best in a proper school."
"Proper schools have lots of technology. They tend to give you computers and other electronics." Ianto sighs, and he wonders how things would work in Ivy's favor. She might draw in questions from the school staff or even worse other parents.
Ianto takes Ivy's hand and he looks over at the different looking TARDIS that belong to the other Doctors. "Let's find someone who's in charge here then."
"Mr. Dresden has told me that calm is the key. However, he remains rather calm and his car requires repairs almost monthly." She thinks, accessing a report from the CPD. "And he destroyed Lieutenant Murphy's computer."
She looks down. "It would be a bad idea. Unless you should like me to attend a school without any technology." Ivy would have to be near Amish kids.
Ivy smiles at him. "You would make a wonderful boss." She points out matter-of-factly.
"Jack's the same way. The world can be falling down on top of us and he's the calmest one in the room. Of course his driving abilities are far from perfect. No they're perfect. Jack just doesn't think the rules of the road apply to him." Ianto's made many phone calls to mechanics in his time so the SUV can be repaired. He's also had to retcon the poor mechanics afterwards. "I'll be sure to keep Harry away from the computers."
He looks to the TARDIS for a bit and he wonders how to teach her. "I suppose Patrick and I could home school you. I'll talk to him about it later." The red dragon has fallen asleep on the ground at Ivy's feet and he seems content with his new family.
"Not just Harry." Ivy points out, her expression serious. "I have generations of lessons on control, however this is a new situation for me. I can not make any promises."
"Thank you." Ivy leans over and hugs her new dad, smiling. "I know this is not easy, but I sure it will be worth it, for all of us."
