Gray cheeps as he loses his tiny corner before peering blearily at the clock. He suddenly grins and rolls over. "Nathan...Naaathan."

Nathan is not a morning person but he manages a sound that is a cross between "Yes" and "What."

The younger chuckles and snuggles up to Nathan's form, cuddling. "Its my birthday today. I lived another year."

Nathan wakes up a little more. "Happy Birthday," he says in his morning growl. "19 right?"

He smiles at the growl, loving it despite knowing part of its origin. But to him it was Nathan and Nathan was safety. "Yeah. 19." He cuddles a bit closer and sighs happily.

A year ago Gray was sure he wouldn't reach 19.

"Guess I'm gonna have to give you this," Nathan says offering Gray a small jewelry box. Inside is a Celtic charm on a necklace, Nathan fed some of his power into as a protection spell."

Gray took it with a look of surprise and sat up slowly. He carefully opened the box and gasped softly. "Nathan? Its beautiful." He looked down at the older man, clutching the box to his chest.

No one had ever given him something like this.

Nathan smiles taking great pleasure in Gray's enjoyment of his gift. 'I'm glad you like it," he says,

"I just wanted you to have something to protect you...it just a simple shield spell but it should help you long enough for you to get away."

"Like it? Nathan I love it." He whispers, stroking the pendant before looking at the other man as he explains the spell. Gray looks back down at the necklace before lifting it out of the box and putting it on.

The teen beams happily as the charm settles over his heart. "I should warn you. I won't ever take it off."

Nathan smiles a little bit. "Good," he says, "it looks good on you. There aren't any words you need to say it should just work once it sense trouble."

Gray gently pounces Nathan, hugging him tightly and nuzzling. Don't mind the soft sniffles in your ear Nathan his just a bit overwhelmed at the moment.

"Hey, hey it's okay don't cry," Nathan soothes softly.
