I meant, you shouldn't play fair if you were fighting against a vampire.

No, it's not literally true, but we are hard to kill. Also, we're faster and stronger than you, and we have natural weapons.

And most of the time we don't have any reason to play fair either.

Only if you don't miss. If you miss, your adversary will be an angry vampire, which is even worse.

I know. But again, you'll have to hit first. And you'd be unpleasantly surprised at what we are still capable of even when you don't miss. I've knocked out another vampire after having been shot and thrown through a window.

[And giving Sherlock more than enough information to gage the survival rate of a vampire.]

*He isn't too worried by that, given the fact that it's unlikely Sherlock will ever meet another vampire.*

I'm just telling you this because I'd like to advise you to be really careful. And to avoid fighting against a vampire if possible.

As I said, I avoid fighting in general.

[He's usually provoked in some way.]

That's probably the smartest attitude.

You've had your share of fights too, haven't you? Your reaction earlier was pretty quick. Where did you learn that?

Fights are easy, if you observe your opponent carefully.

Easy? Usually, there isn't time for careful observation, at least in the fights I know. And you have to know what to look for.

[He raises an eyebrow.]
