Hey... you okay?

Yeah, I think so. Just... the usual worries. You know. Whether I'll be a good Dad.

[Takes his hand] If you care for your child as much as you care for me, I think you will be a wonderful dad.

[He smiles slightly] I knew you'd say that. [Still, he always appreciates her feelings towards him.]

I guess I'm getting caught up in the details. Whether to hide my night job until the kid's old enough to keep secrets, who I need to contact when it's time for the birth announcements... I've even caught myself worrying about schools already. And you're not even in the second trimester yet.

We need to sit down and discuss all these details. That will help. [And then maybe he will relax a little and enjoy the progress of this journey]

We should also talk about how to handle if we pass on our powers. I don't know how early superstrength could start.

A good idea. [She strokes her fingers through his hair]

[He hesitates a little, and squeezes her hand] How old were you when your telepathy started?

The voices were always there. But my first real ability to read others was when I was a teenager.

It sounds manageable enough on its own... I'm not sure how it would change things if our child inherits from us both. [At least if their child ts her voices, it'll be raised by two loving parents who know something about it.]

The voices scared me at first. I didn't understand why I could hear them... and others couldn't.

[April rests her head on his shoulder]

No matter what our child inherits. We will give them the guidance they need to get through it.

They'll have you to help them through it. And me, if my abilities are passed on too. Our child won't have to struggle with these powers alone.

We will make some clues to watch-out for. And we will know how to deal with it.

As for our secrets... I don't want to lie to our child. But we will have to be careful when we do tell him or her.

I don't want to lie either. But I don't want to confuse the kid before they're old enough to understand why keeping secrets is important, or what it even means.

At least we won't have to worry about it for a while yet.

But you are worried [She stands on her tiptoes to place her forehead at his]

Sometimes I can't help it. [He closes his eyes for a moment at the contact.] But I've seen the future too, and I know that it'll turn out just fine.

Its okay to worry. As long as we take care of these worries together... I worry to.

My biggest worry... that my child inherits the hunger.

If that happens, we know what to do. [He strokes her hair a little, smoothing it back.] Either way, our child will be half vampire. And there is nothing wrong with that.

[A soft sigh at him stroking her hair]

We will be okay parents Clark. I just know it.

Talking to you always helps get my head on straight again.

[April smiles and steals a soft kiss from him] You are still the most handsome man I know... even when your head is on backwards.

[He smiles, and chuckles a little] That's high praise.

So tomorrow we can make a list and sit down and talk about our worries.

Tonight, I think you need to escape your worries for a little.
