I never back down from a challenge! [She cracked her tiny knuckles and took hold of his legs.] Hold still please.

Holding still. [Which was hard because she was the most adorable little thing he'd ever seen.]

Thank you! [She did it with Haru, this should be easy now. Adorable maybe but she was determined. Gritting her fangs, Ara gave a heave and slowly lifted him up. it was only a few inches for now but she could do it finally!]

See, I told you! [Well, it was a start anyway.]

[Sam laughed hard when he felt his body lift up.]

How did you do that!?

[She could only hold him up for a short time as she was still growing into her own strength. Finally, the little vampire had to set him down, trying to be careful because he was making her laugh too.]

We can lift all sorts of things. [She was smiling.]

A vampire? For real?

[If he was a wolf who was he to say vampires weren't real? Besides she was tiny and had just picked him up.]

Of course, see! [She popped her mouth open to show off her canines. They were sharp like little kitten teeth. It was just natural to her.]

No, I wouldn't hurt you. You are my friend and that is against the law. Why would I bite you? [She bit her brother before but they had been fighting at the time.]

[Sam bent down and peered at her teeth, smirking as he did. She had to be one of the cutest kids he'd ever seen.]

Bad joke, of course you wouldn't bite me. I'm a boy we taste bad.

[He was one of the nicer adults she had met, he was funny if maybe a little silly and did not bark orders at her. Closing her mouth she offered him a bright smile.]

They do! Boys are very strange and annoying sometimes, but you are nice enough. I am glad you do not mind, I do not meet many outsiders.

We are. Remember that when you get older. We never grow up. We smell and do gross things like burp. [He smiled.] Thank you, you are rather nice yourself. How about I walk you home?

I like burping too, and getting dirty. [Don't let the cute fool you, she was the worst tom boy on the planet.] You seem quite grown-up to me, somewhat. You are a little silly though so maybe you are right.

A lot of people are much larger than me. I'm sort of skinny.

[Ara could not stifle the giggles.] As my friend said, we should fatten you up, you are skin and bones.

I am going to try. We do not need one but I wanted to be a combat medic, they help people all the time, or a scientist, maybe a doctor. I do not think I can do it all together.

Maybe you need vitamins? You cannot eat what we do to get bigger. [This was a puzzle for her electronic friend as she dug her iPad out of her bag.]

I like music! Well, I do not know any other children besides my brother but it sounds cool so it may be.

Why can't you do all of it? Don't vampires live for a very, very long time?

[He smirked when she pulled out the Ipad.] Are you going to ask WebMD how to make me gain weight?

I can't right now, but maybe when I get older. We do, but I am only six, I have a lot of work to do first to catch up with everyone. My bodyguard is almost a hundred now but he still acts silly.

[She never heard of WebMD, but she did read a lot of medical books with it.] What is WebMD? I was going to look in one of my books.

You're entirely too smart for six. [He said with a smile.] It's a website full of medical information. Books?

I like being smart.

Oh! You mean like a Wikipedia, those are helpful. Yes, books I download. I like reading about medicine and science or I do my lessons on it.

May I see that? [Sam loved the feel of a book in his hands and they way they smelled. But they were heavy and cumbersome to travel with.]

Of course! [She loved books but it was a lot easier. She could have all of them in one place. She held it up for him with a smile. Fellow bookworms were always welcome.]
