[ She cant hide from the trickster. Though knowing this was a place where mortals laid their dead he decided to hold off the plot he has for later. Just leaning against a tree unannounced near her.]
[She sighs to herself, dusting off the grave. Looks like she beat her father to it this year. She didn't notice him, just arranged the vase of daisies, tossing the old ones away.]
Hey mom. It's been twelve years, can you believe it?
[ Loki watched, it had been a long time since he had seen a mortal at a place of greiving. Back in the old days he would sit up in trees and watch the old danish people do their funeral acts it was much different from watching someone he had come to care about placing flowers and talking to the dead. Part of him wondered if maybe he could slip her to Hel and find if the woman's mother was in the land of the dead ruled by his currently youngest child.
He finally moved forward this time he didn't hide his steps he let the sound of the ground beneath his feet rustle as he moved.]
[This was different from those old rites, weren't they? As Loki watched, Jane continued to speak, updating her mother of what had happened in the last year: her work, SHIELD, the attack on the planet... Meeting Thor had happened the year before.
Then, Jane didn't think she heard anyone behind her, her thoughts still lost in her memories and all of the "what ifs". When she looked up, her eyes were wide—she wasn't expecting anyone—but she relaxed when she saw that it was just Loki. So she remained down by the grave.]
Hey Loki. What brings you here?
Edited (because i totally fail XD) 2012-06-04 15:12 (UTC)
[ No pyres no sacrifices. Yeah much different yet Loki could see this was much more personal. He was of course listening to what she said and had it not been at such a place he might have made fun of her, but not right now.
He moved over closer to her looking down at the tombstone a moment then to Jane.] So this is what you meant by your mother was no longer with you.
[ He spoke the words as he looked down at her and the stone.] I came looking for you since you were not at your home or other places you go.
[She'll thank him for that. It wasn't often that she was able to go to her mother's grave these days, but she made sure to at least go on the day she died or on her birthday.]
Sorry, I should have left a note. It's just been a while since I've been here.
[She reaches out to the grave and wipes some more dirt from it. On the grave are the typical things: her name, life span, and "Beloved Wife and Mother", with the last line being: It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.]
[ He wasn't ALWAYS a huge dickbag, just sometimes. He mostly is for his own amusement but what fun was it to make someone he enjoys being around cry? Loki moved and knelled beside her watching Jane clean away the dirt.]
It is no problem, Jane. In fact this place is rather calming. Here, allow me.
[ He held his hand out then and barely touched the tombstone abusing his power once more to make the stone suddenly seem newly polished and those discarded dead flowers floating back over seeming to spring back to life and place themselves around the ones Jane had brought.]
[Jane watches him as he uses his magic for her mother's grave, and an appreciative smile lights up her face where remorse and longing had filled it. No, Loki was not a huge dickbag all the time. He might have once wanted to kill her, but that was firmly in the past, wasn't it?]
Thank you. My mother would have loved meeting you.
[ Most of the time, he had his moody periods where he'd rather just murder the lot of them and read in peace. But those moods were becoming rarer and rarer. He looked over to her raising an eyebrow.]
The god of mischief? I think most mortals would rather not. Still, you are quite welcome. Might I inquire if your love of the stars came from her? [ he spoke tapping the inscription.]
[Oh, she knows that feeling quite well, except that hers stems from idiots forgetting to carry the one.]
Nah, she would have grown on you. She liked troublemakers. But yeah, she was the one to inspire it in me. She took me star gazing when I was little once, and told me some legends, and I was hooked.
[ Oh it is always a pain when people forget that little stuff.Little stuff is what sets Loki off more then anything else.]
Well then I am sure if she was like you I would have quite enjoyed knowing her. [ Loki put a hand on her shoulder then as he stood back up looking down to the grave.] Perhaps I should pay my mother a visit soon.
[ Somehow seeing Jane here at this place of rest seeing her mothers tombstone made he think how he should at least talk to Frigga, He still hadn't.]
We could do both at the same time? Have Thor bring Frigga down here with the intention of meeting me, when she's really here to see you.
[Odin might be curious, but she doubts he would want to pay special attention to a mortal, even one who has one of his sons wrapped around her finger.]
[ They were awesome to his brother and her boyfriend. He gave them such hours of fun.]
I dont think that would be wise. Thor is more likely to ask me to help spirit you there, but that could work in that respect. We take you to Asgard have Thor bring mother to his chambers to meet you and I shall simply step out once you two are met.
[ One son? Both sons. Loki may deny it but he'd do most things she asked. Between her and Sigyn they'd get what they want from the prankster.]
That will be even better. And I can get the "meeting of the parents" out of the way too.
[See? This was why he was the master planner. He worked out the kinks and thought of even better plots. She and Sigyn took this very seriously; it was a difficult task, keeping someone wanting to do whatever you asked.]
One sec.
[Pulling him towards the grave again, she grins at the stone.]
Mom, this is Loki. I've mentioned him before, but in short, he's the best brother-in-law a girl could ask for.
[ It also helped stroke his ego a little to devise better ways of doing others plans. Made him feel that he was smarter which was always something he craved. ANd yes it must be difficult with Loki.]
[ Before he could say anything she was introducing him to the tombstone. Part of Loki wished to make fun of her for this but he knew it was serious to her so Loki bowed a little a hand going to his chest.]
I thank you Lady Foster, for bringing such a charming woman into this world. Maybe on another plain you and I may make acquaintance. For now I simply promise to watch over your daughter and asure no harm comes to her.
[She knew it was kind of silly, bringing someone to a grave marker and talking to them like the person was still alive, but a part of her liked to think that her mother was watching over them like Loki said he would for her. Maybe not physically, but someone didn't stop loving you because they died.]
Maybe on another plain everyone will have met. It's possible with other universes. But let's get ready so you can meet your mom.
[ It may be silly but it was understandable, Loki may not fully grasp it but it was something he could see being important to her so he was willing to speak to the stone for her. Reaching out he took one of her hands to start to lead them away.]
It may be possible Jane, My daughter Hel is queen over the Helhiem, the land of the dead. I might be able to inquire if your mother is there. If you would like I doubt you;d be able to see her but if she be in the care of Hel she is in good hands my daughter is not like me. She is kind to all whom come her way.
[She smiled and squeezed his hand, walking with him.]
You're plenty kind too. But it's alright. Here on earth, no one really knows where we go after we die... so we do our best to move on and hope for the best. I'd still like to meet Hel sometime.
[ He shook his head grinning a bit.] I have been rubbing off on you have I not? Such wonderful ideas you have. In fact how would you feel about being rather mean to one Tony Stark?
......Oh god that is but a beautiful idea. I say we save that for the night of a party and three Peppers be all about the party everytime he speaks to someone one of us slip up on him. [ Devious bastard this one was.]
Exactly each time he would think he's lost Pepper she reappers. I did this to Thor once ages ago Though I made myself to look like Sif, Needless to say he can now see through my tricks.
Call Pepper and let her know to expect you and a friend. Tell her not it was me I think she may still be sore that I threatened to throw her out a window.
[She cheerfully makes the call anyways, grinning when Pepper loves it, and even more so agrees to let this "new friend" who "can do magic" in with her later that night.]

You probably should.
[She fiddles with the daisies a little before standing up as well.]
Thor says she misses you terribly, always asks Thor to ask me how you're doing.

...I may just do that when I get in tonight. I simply worry that the Allfather will be near and I simply am not ready for that.
[ He spoke running a hand through his hair.]
He should just ask me himself...though I could make it easier for him to find me I suppose. Shall we venture to lunch?
