Can an individual really change everything?

I think it's possible, yeah.

Could you explain how?

Well it really depends on the situation. I mean there's no cookie-cutter answer to how to change. Everyone's different. But the gist of it, I think in most situations, calls for jumping in head first. Just going for it. You might fail once or twice or several times... but when you fail you've gotta get back up and dive in head first again.

You can sure as hell try.

You sound familiar with this. Have you experienced a change of your own? [For once she was not going to argue because she was attempting to process what his words meant to her own situation.]

Yes. [Her answer is simple, but her reasoning behind it certainly is anything but simple.]

All it takes is for one person to do the right thing. Others will inevitably follow.

Even if your society teaches what you feel is right, is wrong or weak?

Society can be mistaken or just flat wrong. It's up to you to decide what's right and wrong. [For example, House Elf Rights. Most would consider such an idea frivolous and ridiculous, but not Hermione. She knows servitude - especially unpaid and cruel servitude - is never okay.]

Things are.. rather different in my society, however I understand what you are saying. I spent my childhood attempting to do that. Finding what is felt to be right is not easy again.

Regardless of how a society operates, it's best to learn how to stand on your own. Following the pack might lead you somewhere you don't wish to go.

Someone else has told me that as well, it is hard to change after being taught one way of life, how to carry yourself and what to think.. I have already traveled that road, I am trying to find a way back that can balance who I am with what I am. [To get revenge for her parents as well...]

Then I can tell you first hand that it's possible. You just have to take it one day at a time and keep moving forward.
