Cannot run from who you are...

No, you can't. But, on that note, you should not let other define who you are.

Inner demons often define us.

It is indeed difficult when those that want to define you are important to you. Like a parent child relationship, we always seek to please our parents or those placed in the role of 'parent'. I believe you can meet expectations without sacrificing yourself.

Let's just say I know what it's like to be a flesh craving beast. My... rebirth... was not a kind one.

First of all what you do shouldn't conflict with who you are, if it does, stop doing it.

*scoff* At least they aren't falling apart.

The... original... vampires of my kind did not start as such. We were human, and then the fallout came. We were exposed to some isotope that began breaking us down. In response our body tried to change to preserve itself. In doing so it neglected our higher brain functions. Our upper mind shut down but we kept going, even as our bodies were falling apart from server radiation poisoning. Basically... we were zombies, just like the rest of those things that roam the streets of the future, hunting for their next meal.

Some think that all of them are in the process of... evolving... like we did. I must admit, I've seen some even still that are becoming like us, slowly. Other say that most of the population will never become like us, at least not before they die one way or another. Sometimes I think it would be better for them not to, so they wouldn't have these memories like I do. *quietly* My family never got out of the city.
