Leaving Gotham feels like giving up.

Maybe you're looking at it wrong.

Maybe you should look at it as starting over? Just because you leave one place doesn't mean you can't have a future elsewhere.

Big cities often feel that way. For all the people in them, they're more mechanical than anything else.

I don't think you - leave Gotham. Part of it...stays with you.

[She frowns, and shakes her head.] Sounds silly.

That's been said of a few cities.

That would be my advice to you. Perhaps that's even a reason to leave. So that you can see more of the world around you.

Paris... Moscow... Berlin... London... Beijing... Tokyo... Hong Kong... Mexico City... Montreal... Anchorage... Oh! And Port Royal, of course. I've heard they give tours of the old part of the city that slipped off the island back in the 1600's. Strange as it is, the city is well preserved even after the quake and sitting under the ocean.

Time to start making some new memories then.

*smiles* It's an amazing place; tons of history - plus, I mean, it's the Caribbean... how can you not love the weather?

[A slight nod.]

Don't think of it as - abandoning.

...Graduating.

whoop, wrong vigilante

[She offers a slight smile.] For me, too. It was...home. My first.

[Her face falls, and her voice goes quiet.]

Bludhaven.

It's - gone, now.

[Her brow furrows.] It's - not far. My - brothers. Were there.

...I was...supposed to protect it.

[Her eyes widen, before she shakes her head.] No, they - they got out. Before.

But...my friends. I don't - I'd never...

[She smiles again, achingly sad.] Except for her. But she's gone, too. It's...why I left.

[She shakes her head again.] But - it was good. While it lasted.

It can be good for you, too.

...My - she was - my first friend.

She...died. In a gang war. She was...she was trying...

She always tried. To make things better.

Yes.

[After a moment, she holds her hand out.]

Cassandra.
