[He looks a bit embarrassed as kittens start climbing out of the damp sack and clambering up the arms of his coat, mewing. Apparently he's no longer scary to animals after his exorcism.]
I thought someone was throwing a child in the river.
I...ehm...thought that man was tossing a child off the bridge. Apparently I am not frightening to small animals anymore...[Now one is playing with his hair.]
[There are eight altogether: two black, three in varying shades of grey, two chinchillas and one little fireball.]
Eh? Oh no, just saved them from that. Too bad I couldn't do both that and kick the bastard who did it's teeth in. But. In that bag they looked like a small child, so, easy choice.
[A very bright orange red little flufflet clambers onto his shoulder and MEEEEEEEWS demandingly in Riku's general direction.]
Indeed. Well, my girlfriend will be happy. She communicates with cats. Don't have any idea where we will keep them...is one of them chewing on my ponytail? [He reaches back and yes, one of the black ones is happily nomming away.]
I rescued them. [He opens the bag more and out spill kittens, hungry and curious now that the panic is over. One green-eyed blob of darkness with whiskers peers at Loki very knowingly, and then trots over.]
Such tales of cats of black and eyes of green. [ Oh and that did tug at the heart strings as the tall one knelled and held his hand out to the kitten. Clearly taken with it already.] WHat would it take to talk this one off of you?
[There was in fact a quote about cats that Loki might have found concerning had he known of it: "No cat out of its first fur was ever deceived by appearances, unlike human beings, who seem to enjoy it." This kitten reached out and laid a paw on his fingers, and stared at him still, almost meditatively.]
Just tell me what sort of home you'll provide, sir. She seems to have rather made her own choice, though.
[ Oh yes that was a quote he might very well have known but lost over his years of life, but wise words they happened to be. The trickster smiled down at the kitten it clearly had his heart already. At the others question he looked up.] A home where it shall be loved greatly by my expecting wife and her Anita Inu puppy.
[ He spoke as he moved the hand that didn't have a paw on it to run his fingers over the fur.] The dog is still a puppy and would be no harm to this darling creature if they are raised together. Myself, my wife and our son when he arrives would care greatly for her.
[She holds out her hands and coos softly, calling some of them close so she can pet them. The fireball is in her arms after seconds, and a black and one of the grays rub against her.]
I'm glad they aren't. And even if they aren't human, I'm glad you saved them.
[Shadow made his appearance. Not quite coming over, but sniffing at the kittens from nearby. When he looked at Blaze he didn't have to 'speak' to her. his expression alone said 'what will you do with them?' She smiled at her companion.]
I suppose I'll have to find them good homes. They don't deserve to grow up on the streets like we did. Would you be too upset with me if I kept one myself?
