I dunno I just don't feel peppy these last couple of days. Sorry I have really nothing to complain about, so I really shouldn't be complaining at all. Especially everything you've been through in the past couple of weeks.
Well not really. I mean I can't complain about things when there's far worse going on in other peoples lives.
Well I've felt a little under the weather because of the heat, but I've also felt down over the past two days. I wish I could explain why but I can't seem to explain why I'm feeling this way.
But it's not right Matthew. Not when there's legitimate problems in the world.
Maybe. I was thinking about going out for some iced but the only places open this time of night are in the city and I'm not sure I want to go all the way there.
True, but that doesn't mean one mans problems pales in comparison. I mean I'm pretty sure that getting beaten and kidnapped is far worse then just having a case of the grumps.
If you want to, you don't have to come over or anything. I could just make it on my own.
An hour later, there's a knock at Gabriel's door. It had taken him an hour because he had indeed stopped to get pizza and lattes. So if and when Gabriel answers the door, there will be a Mark with a pizza box and a cup carton of two lattes on top.
Of course Gabriel had been busy tidying up a bit. Mark had made it pretty clear he was coming even though Gabriel had sort of half-assed saying there was no need for it. He figured if the other was really coming he might as well clean up a little. Of course Colbalt went and messed it up by dragging out half the things Gabriel had put away. But at least the couch was clean again, the piles of records that usually sat on top of them moved to the floor, and the odds and ends sort of shoved on the small dining table in the corner of the small flat so that they weren't in the way.
He was just about finished when there came a knock on the door and Gabriel rushed to it opening it for the other, surprised to see an actual pizza in front of him. He leaned out and snagged the two drinks from atop the pizza so that it would be easier to carry. "Oh, you know you didn't have to do that right?" He stated allowing the other to come in before shutting the door behind him. He sort of pushed things out of the way on the small island in front of the door so that Mark could put the pizza down. "But I appreciate it! How much do I owe you for it?"
He gives Gabriel a grateful smile when he takes the drinks from atop the pizza because it does make it a lot easier to carry. It's actually kind of surprising that he didn't spill the lattes on the way here. But he's counting that as a plus. "I did have to do that, I haven't eaten yet today. Besides, you might hate it when you find out it has all veggies and no meat on it."
Walking inside, he set the pizza down on the cleared space, then looks around the place. "It's nice." And the moment he spots Cobalt, he squats down and scratches at the cat's ears. "Awww, did you end up going with Cobalt?"
"Not really. Why would I be made about that?" He laughed a little, free pizza is free pizza, he can't imagine anyone would be too upset about free pizza." Well now he doesn't have to worry about it. He shuffles into the small kitchen and grabs a couple of clear glass plates which are similar in style but don't actually match match and a couple of forks. He knows he's the only one in the world that eats pizza with a fork and a knife but he always offers the utensils just in case.
"Oh, it's not that nice." He admits. The place while clean is covered in clutter. There is hardly a space that doesn't have something on it. There's a couch and a chair sat in front of a rather large screened television, and underneath that is a slew of old and new game consoles with wires and games sort of shoved in to the point where if you were to remove something it would look like the whole mess would come right out. Over in the opposite corner there's a computer set up with two monitors and two laptops which is sat beside a desk which seems to house nothing but record players. There's about three on it with one whole unit underneath. There's two rooms towards the back. A bathroom which is seen pretty clearly and seems to be cleanest thing in Gabriel's flat and at the end of the hallway after the bathroom and closet, is a bedroom that is probably best you go nowhere near, least an avalanche take you.
All in all it's sort of a wreck and he feels almost shamed every time someone comes round. That's one thing one never gets used to. In Britain it's not often people come around others houses most flats are much too small for visitors. So he's not used to keeping his flat put together least someone visit.
"I did!" The small kitten jumps about as Mark decides to focus his attention on her. She attacks his hand grabs a squeak mouse and takes off expecting him to follow obviously. "I figured it was sort of fitting, her eyes keep getting bluer!"
"No really, it's very... you. Which is as it should be." And it was. Every inch of the apartment was exactly as he would have imagined it given what he knows of Gabriel. It all reflected his friend's personality.
Mark petted Cobalt's ears a bit more before standing up again to give Gabriel a one-armed hug as he took one of the plates. "And the iced lattes are the pumpkin spiced ones I promised you. Obviously they're better for dessert than actually with the pizza."
Sorry for the slow tags and also my inability to apparently write small posts lately.
"Well I think your nest tends to take on a lot more of your qualities then you usually show. Course my shop looks just like this too so I must just be messy." He laughs at that shaking his head. Hey at least Mark doesn't seem to mind too much. He knows it's not fancy but hey there's places to sit. "Oh?" He looks at the drinks still in his hands and nods, to be honest he's never had one.
"So should I put them in the freezer then and grab something else to drink. I don't drink, drink so I can't offer you a beer or anything but I have lemonade, iced tea, oh and some V8!" He smiles at the one armed hug then moves to the small fridge in the corner and places them in the freezer part, they probably wont eat for that long so they shouldn't freeze in there.
"Thanks for coming over you didn't have to you know." It isn't often that Gabriel feels sad but these past few days he had. He wished he had a reasoning behind it but he didn't really. He could pin some things to contributing factors but there was no true reason and that was perhaps the most frustrating part.
Aww it's okay! I'm good with slow-time and always worry others hate MY slow tagging. You're good!
"Yeah, stick them in the freezer and then after pizza you'll no longer be a pumpkin spiced latte novice. And lemonade sounds great. Thanks, Gabriel." Mark takes the two plates and starts to fill them up with pizza. Filling them up is two slices each leaving four more slices for Gabriel to keep for whenever. It's a specialty pizza from a local place, one of Mark's favorites. The crust is whole wheat and thin and instead of marinara, they use real tomatoes for that flavor.
As he fills the plates, he rambles on. "I think you're right. When I got my apartment, my mom came over to make sure I had everything I needed. I left home for one day and she had the whole place decorated. She had a very classic style. But as I've been there longer and longer, it's become a lot more zen... feng shui. Very muted and... more like me."
He lifts the plates and looks over to Gabriel. "Is eating on the couch okay or?"
Pft you'll never have to worry about that with me! I subscribe to the art of slowtime.
"I'll have to blog about it!" He smiles and laughs as he pops the two lattes in the freezer and pours them both a glass of lemonade. When Mark is done he trades him a plate for a glass of lemonade. The pizza smells good, admittedly Gabriel doesn't adventure much with his food. He gets what he wants and what he's completely used too and it's never really all that exciting. But it's nice when he has moments like these to sort of break up his routine.
He nods at the question about the couch. "Of course sit right down, you can't really sit at the table." He himself makes his way over to the couch and sort of folds himself into one side placing his plate on top of a trunk that sat as a sort of coffee table. "Yeah back home people don't really visit. If you're a sort of clutter bug you don't usually have to share your space. I sort of have a problem with cleaning things out. I probably only clean out about once a year and I get rid of tons of things but in the meantime I have tons of stuff." He laughs a little as Mark explains about his mum.
"Mum's are sort of like that. I'm nearly forty and I'm always getting sent things from my mum. I'm constantly being sent socks and tea towels and some sort of food." He laughs and shakes his head taking his plate back after he's completely settled and tucking into it. Using his knife to cut it into little bits before eating. "Oh, wow this is very good Mark! Thank you!"
"Yeah, I really miss my mom's over-attentiveness." Mark settles into the opposite side of the couch, his flip-flops kicked off on the floor by the couch. Yeah, he's pretty much just making himself at home. His plate is comfortably balanced on his knees as if he always does this, which he does.
"You're welcome." Mark smiles, really glad that Gabriel seems to like the pizza. Sometimes people don't like things that don't have any meat or are a little different than the norm. "I think it's my favorite pizza. And I'll tell you, every year I wait and wait and wait for Starbucks to come out with their pumpkin spiced lattes. Starbucks keeps them seasonal so they're only available in the fall. But this January I went into this local coffee shop that opened up down the street from me. And they have it all year and I even think it's a little bit sweeter than the Starbucks ones."
"I'm sorry, I probably shouldn't have said anything." He'd forgotten that Mark had mentioned his mother had passed. He felt terrible bragging about his own when Mark couldn't have the enjoyment of his own mother. He sort of focused on his food for a bit trying to let the awkward moment of his own foolishness pass. "It's quite good, I never get pizza so it's a real treat. My default is Indian take away." He laughed, some habits never die. He doesn't mind that Mark is making himself at home, it's better then standing around awkwardly. Gabriel always eats on the couch, or in his bed. He hasn't used the table in the corner since he bought his flat.
"I never go into Starbucks admittedly. Their stuff is always too expensive, but Kenny sometimes brings some into the shop for me which is nice. And there's no such thing as too sweet, hey sweetness is better right! At least I think so, but then again I've been craving something sweet for ages now."

We could make some?

Hmm, I guess I could make myself some. I've got some chai that would probably be lovely.

So we'll do that.

Just in Tokyo all day. My Japanese is rusty. No, my brain is still awake.

I only know car and hello. Ahh I hate that, when you're physically tired but you're mentally awake.
