[Drake sets down his backpack and brings out his skateboard. It is black with a dark red symbol on it.]

[She glances at him a moment and then lightly hops, keeping the skateboard from slipping out from under her feet with her rainbow fairy wings giving balance]

Place one foot in front of the other. [Drake moves to help her keep balance. He is a gentleman after all]

Are you left-handed or right-handed?

[She shifts her feet carefully following instructions. She shouldn't be afraid to fall--she can fly--but she'll hold his hand to keep her balance anyway, because he's the Expert!]

Yah you are doing great.

Since you are right handed, you want to keep your right foot on the skateboard. And you will use your left foot to push you forward.

[She moves her foot, keeping balance and gives the skateboard a little push with her foot]

[He will move with her as the small push moves her just to ensure that she doesn't lose her balance]

The bigger the pushes the further you can go. But stick with the small stuff until you are comfortable.

[She'll gingerly test it, getting a feel for it. It's not so different from driving a motor bike, really, once she's got her balance, and she can go short distances without losing her footing.]

How do you stop? And steer?

[drake_kent]

To stop, just place your weight on the back of the board. Not all of your weight, or you might tip.

And you use your body to steer too. Lean left, and the board goes left. Lean right, the board goes right.

[She does as instructed, careful to keep her balance while moving forward--easy enough--and steer, trying not to wobble too much. Which is more difficult.]
