Depends... what kind of braid are you wanting to do?

There is the simple braid, the French braid, the fishtail braid, the Dutch braid, and that is just to name a few.

You make three sections of hair, where you want the braid. Then you basically weave which ever sections are the outside ones, over top the middle one as you go.

[Gavin was just going to watch what she was doing, he was new to this but it was for a small friend so he was going to try.]

Simple would probably be best with a six year old anyway. [He takes a hunk of his own long, gold locks and tries to follow her along. It takes him a few tries but he gets the sections separated finally and tries to plait it.] So this is something like a rope then?

That is a good comparison. It does take practice. You should try pigtail braids then. I loved them when I was six years old. Still do.

Its just a doubled-up version of the first one. If I can get her to sit still she may be willing to try it. [He chuckles and tries one more time with his own mangy braid, using his superior vision to follow her better. Gavin couldn't help but notice there was something that varied in her scent. It was faint for sure but he did notice while following her along. He kept quiet for now as she seemed fine so far.]

[He did notice that look after he withdrew his large hand. Odd looks could mean something interesting to a bodyguard. Part of his high-spirited friendliness was also a cover to watch people after all but some of it was real.]

I'm not sure what you mean by that? [He did smell something slightly odd earlier. It was vague but familiar, sort of. Did that have something to do with it?]

My siblings and I are gifted. Basically not human. [Laura shrugs] I just thought I felt something similar. But I could be wrong.
