Today my scars really freaking itch.

Scars?

[Normally he wouldn't ask, but he knew she was a werewolf, and he knew that when he'd been turned, any injury he had before as well as the bite marks healed overnight. He hadn't known a werewolf could get scars.]

From when I was infected.

[Well Issac doesn't know it but they are two very different breeds. It's not something they have talked about though. They only had the one conversation.]

They're not usually like this. It's just if I get stressed. Why?

I don't have any scars from that. The bite mark was gone the morning after I was bitten.

[He didn't know they were different breeds, but he was beginning to suspect that there might be a difference between them, considering the fact that she had scars from being bitten.]

I woke up several days later.

[That's obviously another big difference. And she doesn't fully recall what happened. He obviously does.]

I was fine. I mean, it hurt, but no one even knew anything happened. Maybe it was just a deeper bite? You said you were actually attacked. I wasn't. Maybe that's the difference.

Maybe. I mean I'm pretty sure he was trying to kill me.

At least I survived. I mean sometimes I don't feel so lucky but.... It's good. That I survived.

Being a werewolf isn't that bad, you know. You just have to find an anchor. Something to remind you that you're human. And a pack, but I think I already told you that.

Yeah. Still nervous about others though....I've been working on finding an anchor. There are people who.... don't mind that I'm not exactly normal. They're not pack but.... I feel like whatever part of me that's 'wolf' is comfortable with them.

I guess. I know one guy like you. He didn't want to be bitten, either, and most of the people he treats like pack aren't werewolves, either. I never quite got it.

[But he liked Scott, all the same, since Scott seemed to care about his well being more than most people did.]

It could be he's more in touch with humans than us? I just... other werewolves still freak me out a bit. My transformations aren't easy on me and... these people are good at making me feel calm.

It's like being different isn't a huge deal to them.

He is. I always feel safer with other werewolves. Stronger. Stiles is like that, though. He's human, but he doesn't seem to have any problem with werewolves.

Well it's not like we're monsters. We're just.... different.

I know, but some people think we are.

They just don't know any better. I mean sometimes.... sometimes I forget that too.

Yeah, well...forgive me if I don't find that comforting when they're trying to kill me.

That's when you run away? At least I would.

Sometimes. Sometimes you have to stick around to make sure they don't hurt anyone you care about.
